The successful candidate will be a General Transportation Claims Adjuster and will be working on a hybrid work setup in Edmonton, Alberta. They will be actively involved in evaluating large loss claims with a focus on property (commercial and transportation) claims through loss investigation and be responsible for negotiating settlements following provincial licensing requirements, while maintaining adequate production levels and customer relationships.

Responsibilities:
  • Reviews and analyzes experts’ reports
  • Selects and directs independent experts
  • Identifies and pursues subrogation opportunities
  • Secures and manages litigation disposition plans and budgets
  • Detailed recording of file activities and transactions in both Crawford and Company and client-based systems
  • Maintains accurate expense accounts
  • Work with manager to maintain client relation
  • Ability to liaise and work with all facets of the insurance community including brokers, risk managers, legal counsel and regulators
Requirements:
  • 5 or more years of functional and technical claims handling experience in large loss, transportation, heavy equipment and cargo losses
  • Ideal candidate will have a construction and property background specializing in project management, quantification and appraisal
  • Commercial policy interpretation and experience in making recommendations to the market
  • Has an active adjuster license or working towards CIP and/or FCIP designation 
  • Reliable transportation required
  • Valid driver's license is required
  • Regular travel to loss sites is required
  • Strong report writing skills 
  • Must be a team player with outstanding customer service skills 
  • Willingness to work in a dynamic environment with opportunity for career growth
