Job description

The Role

We are seeking a Director of Demand Management for our US Commercial Team to provide comprehensive forecasting and demand management of our expanding US commercial business. The Director will play a vital role in interfacing with internal & external stakeholders, delivering insightful analysis and reporting, and spearheading the long-range planning process to ensure alignment with Moderna’s strategic objectives. The Director Demand Management will have a key role in the success of Moderna’s US Commercial Team, charged with driving innovative solutions and operational excellence to ensure aggressive growth objectives are met.

Here’s What You’ll Do

  • Develop and maintain accurate demand forecasts for all product lines, considering market trends and insights, historical data, and sales inputs.

  • Lead cross-functional teams, including Supply Chain, Account Management, Marketing, Finance, Operations and Digital, to ensure a cohesive approach to demand planning and inventory management in a fast-paced environment. 

  • Establish business systems to provide end-to-end visibility of forecasting, demand, supply and channel inventories.  Coordinate activities with both internal and external stakeholders including Wholesalers/Distributors, Key Customers and US Government entities.

  • Lead the long-range demand planning process for the US including our expanding portfolio of respiratory vaccines as well as future pipeline products, integrating business intelligence and market analysis to support strategic decision-making.  Ensure alignment of forecasts and key stakeholders.

  • Provide regular analysis and reporting on demand trends, forecast accuracy, and market dynamics to senior leadership and key stakeholders.

  • Implement best practices in demand planning and management, utilizing advanced forecasting models and tools with a special focus on AI.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance demand planning processes and systems.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all demand-related inquiries and issues for the US Commercial Team.

  • Engage in scenario planning to anticipate and mitigate potential risks to supply and demand alignment.

  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and company policies in the execution of demand management activities.

Here’s What You’ll Need (Minimum Qualifications)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering or related field

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in vaccines or pharmaceuticals showcasing increasing responsibility and experience in demand/supply chain management

  • Demonstrated history of leading complex cross-functional projects (systems integration, etc)

  • Demonstrated history of successfully collaborating with Account Management and Supply Chain teams

  • Appropriate Industry Professional Certifications

  • This role is expected to be in office 70% of the time with flexibility to work from home up to 30%.
