xScion is seeking an experienced IT Asset Manager, to join our client's dynamic IT department. The ideal candidate will be responsible for efficiently managing and optimizing IT asset lifecycle processes across hardware, software, and services, utilizing ServiceNow IT Asset Management (ITAM), IT Service Management (ITSM), Configuration Management Database (CMDB) solutions, and Workday Financials.
As an IT Asset Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of asset data, supporting procurement and contract management, and enhancing governance and compliance in alignment with business and regulatory requirements. You will collaborate cross-functionally with IT, procurement, finance, and various business units to implement the best IT asset management and service delivery practices.
As an IT Asset Manager, You will:
IT Asset Lifecycle Management:
- Oversee the entire lifecycle of IT assets from acquisition to disposal.
- Implement and enforce asset tracking and inventory control processes.
- Manage procurement, deployment, and decommissioning of IT assets.
- Optimize asset utilization and cost-effectiveness across the organization
ServiceNow IT Asset Management (ITAM):
- Maintain and enhance ServiceNow ITAM to track and manage all IT assets.
- Ensure asset data is accurate, up-to-date, and integrated with ServiceNow modules such as ITSM and CMDB.
- Develop and maintain reports and dashboards to provide visibility into asset status, compliance, and usage.
ServiceNow Configuration Management Database (CMDB):
- Collaborate closely with the CMDB and configuration management teams to align asset and configuration data.
- Support CMDB initiatives, ensuring that configuration items (CIs) and their asset relationships are accurate.
- Assist with the governance of the CMDB to maintain data integrity and compliance.
Governance and Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with software licensing agreements and regulatory requirements.
- Develop policies and procedures for managing IT assets and software licensing.
- Conduct audits and regular reviews to ensure asset data accuracy and compliance with internal and external policies.
Collaboration and Stakeholder Management:
- Collaborate with IT, procurement, finance, and business teams to align IT asset management strategies with business needs.
- Serve as the subject matter expert for IT asset management processes and tools, providing training and support as needed.
- Participate in budgeting and forecasting for IT asset purchases and lifecycle costs.
Continuous Improvement:
- Analyze asset performance and utilization data to identify cost savings and process improvement opportunities.
- Lead initiatives to automate asset management processes, improve accuracy, and reduce administrative overhead.
- Stay current with industry best practices, tools, and technologies to improve the ITAM program continually.
To Be Successful, You Need:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, information technology, or related field.
- ServiceNow Expertise: 5+ years of experience in IT asset management, with hands-on experience in ServiceNow ITAM, ITSM, and CMDB.
- Workday Financials Integration: Experience integrating ServiceNow with Workday Financials for seamless financial and asset data alignment.
- Software License Management: Knowledge of various software licensing models and compliance management.
- Asset Lifecycle Management: Skilled in managing IT asset lifecycles from acquisition to decommissioning.
- Data Governance & Compliance: Ensures compliance with regulations and internal governance standards.
- Process Automation: Ability to automate asset management processes within ServiceNow for efficiency.
- Collaboration & Stakeholder Management: Strong communication skills for IT, procurement, finance, and business teams.
- ITIL Knowledge: Familiarity with ITIL best practices in IT service and asset management.
- Analytical & Reporting Skills: Ability to analyze data and provide insights for cost optimization.
- Project Management: Experience in managing asset-related projects and system integrations.
- Permanent Residency required.
Certifications:
- ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) – ITAM or ITSM.
- ITIL Foundation or other IT Service Management certifications.
- Certified Software Asset Manager (CSAM) or Hardware Asset Management (CHAMP) is a plus.
