Title: Sr. Manager, Strategic Growth Platforms
Location: Hershey PA; remote eligible
Summary
Strategic Growth Platforms (SGP) resides in Hershey’s Growth Office and is responsible for the identification and definition of enterprise-level strategic & profitable white space opportunities, with particular focus on Hershey’s Candy, Mint, and Gum (CMG) business. SGP partners closely with commercial-focused teams, who lead implementation of opportunities identified by SGP once they are sufficiently vetted. The Sr Manager, Strategic Growth Platforms will have initial responsibility for identifying and defining opportunities to accelerate Hershey’s impulse business. As this workstream matures and transitions to implementation, the role will pivot to focus on identification and support of other opportunities, with primary focus on portfolio- and/or customer-based initiatives. To validate opportunities and prepare them for implementation, this role will require strong analytical skills, as well as robust collaboration across functions, including Sales & Category Management, Finance, SRGM, Marketing, and Packtypes Strategy.
Responsibilities
- Identify pockets of growth across portfolio- and customer-based initiatives
- Execute complex and comprehensive analyses to validate commercial opportunities
- Create and develop new commercial concepts
- As required, complete pre-work to stand up micro-battles for launch and run micro-battles to test commercial concepts
- Articulate the holistic investment objectives and solutions to senior leaders
- Develop comprehensive tracking, reporting, and KPI development to support critical initiatives
- Partner with US CMG leaders to ensure successful scaling of product and non-product commercial solutions
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree required
- MBA preferred
Experience/Skills
- At least 8 years of work experience across marketing, sales, and/or related functions
- Strong understanding of business strategy and objectives
- Strong communicator with ability to lead directly and cross-functionally
- Ability to cultivate and create excitement and engagement in the organization
- Strong technical skills (e.g., Excel, IRI, Numerator, PPT, etc.), with proven ability to synthesize multiple data sources
- Innovative, forward-thinking and entrepreneurial in approach
- Problem-solving mentality, intellectually curious, strong critical thinking skills
- Experience and comfort presenting to senior leadership
