PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT
Responsible for the design of efficient, safe and cost effective large scale commercial grain drying, storage and handling systems that meet or exceed customer expectations.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Parcipate in sales calls with customers to determine their needs and wants. Designs commercial grain storage, material handling, and processing systems ensuring they meet capacity, safety, operational requirements and exceeds customers expections.
Develop detailed technical sales and/or construction drawings using AutoCAD software to communicate system layouts, structures, and equipment specifications.
Oversee project planning, from the initial concept to the final construction, ensuring timelines, budgets, and standards are met.
Work closely with construction teams and customers to ensure the system design meets all technical and operational requirements.
Prepare cost estimates for new systems and upgrades, considering materials, labor, and additional costs of the project.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS
Assist with locating qualified subcontractors or equipment vendors using approved protocols, forms and procedures.
Assist with enforcing GROWMARK and OSHA programs, storm water permits, SPCC compliance and other regulatory requirements on sites.
Attend, and exhibit where applicable, industry events as directed and approved by department management.
Follows GROWMARK’s Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program, Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA and DOT policies and procedures, as they apply.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
5-7 years of experience designing large-scale commercial or agricultural systems, with a focus on grain handling and storage.
Bachelor’s degree in an agri-mechanical discipline, or the equivalent thereof preferred but not required.
Proficiency in AutoCAD for designing systems and structures.
Knowledge of grain handling processes, safety regulations, and equipment.
This role is suited for those with a technical background and strong interest in agricultural systems.
Excellent communication and client relationship management skills.
Occasionally requires extreme weather conditions, noisy conditions, dust, electrical hazards, heights, confined spaces, lifting 21-50 lbs.
Will be required to work extended hours. Will need to travel independently and overnight. Passport for travel to Canada will be required.
Ability and willingness to participate in required training that may include education on GROWMARK’s policies and procedures and additional training as it relates to the requirements of the position.
