Overview of the Role

The Public Relations Manager is a results-oriented team player who creates and executes strategic public relations plans for SRW | C.A. clients in the better-for-you CPG world. They own and facilitate the entire process from initiating client assignments, pitching media contacts in lifestyle and consumer publications, writing press releases, collaborating with internal agency departments to identify PR-able ideas, and delivering flawless output.

The PR Manager helps make our clients’ brands famous. They partner closely with the strategy, media, influencer marketing and creative teams to conceptualize story ideas, secure unique placements in print, broadcast and digital media, secure industry/consumer awards, and prove out success through reporting metrics.

What You’ll Do at C.A. Fortune

  • Serve as day-to-day PR lead and client contact on various client accounts
  • Compile and build media lists; come with current media connections and continue to build new connections with lifestyle and consumer publications
  • Lead writing projects such as press releases, blog posts and media pitches
  • Manage budgets, communication and process with publishers at various outlets
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to conceptualize campaign activation ideas, secure unique placements and execute a variety of public relations initiatives for our clients including:
    • Build on ideas in brainstorms and in partnership with influencer marketing team to enhance integrated campaign development
    • Lead client calls and new business calls for earned media updates and capabilities; build trusting relationships with client counterparts to make SRW an indispensable partner
    • Develop recommendations for satellite media tours and lead sponsored content initiatives
    • Manage awards submissions for key client campaigns and case studies

What You Should Bring to the Table

  • Exude confidence being on the front-line pitching to print, broadcast and digital media
  • Excellent writing, editing and presentation skills 
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to develop creative pitch concepts 
  • Inventive solutions for project challenges; sense of urgency, responsibility and accountability
  • Infectious passion and excitement in internal meetings and client presentations
  • Ask questions and strive to be a subject matter expert on clients’ business, media platforms, influencer networks, etc.

You Will Stand Out If You Have

  • Experience working with PR tools like Cision, Meltwater, etc.
  • Solid media contacts in-market; thorough knowledge of media pitching and strong pitching skills
  • A connection to pop culture; do you proactively stay up to speed on industry trends, social media platforms and our clients’ competitive landscape?
