Director Consumer Marketing

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Consumer Marketing to lead our efforts in expanding awareness and understanding of the benefits of genetic testing among patients, parents, caregivers and advocacy organizations. This role will be pivotal in developing and executing a comprehensive marketing strategy to expand GeneDx reach and authority among these key audiences, while driving high ROI for consumer initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a robust marketing strategy aimed at reaching patients, parents and caregivers to enhance awareness and understanding of genetic testing benefits.
  • Translate audience insights into actionable strategies and tactics to develop and execute comprehensive multi-channel marketing strategies engaging key audiences and delivering against business objectives
  • Lead the development of all consumer promotional materials from strategy through execution including but not limited to digital advertising, website, display ads, social posts, influencer partnerships, multichannel marketing program, patient brochure & point of care promotion
  • Monitor and measure marketing campaign effectiveness, identifying opportunities for optimizations, and establishing reporting cadence and channel for relevant metrics updates.
  • Lead the development of consumer competitive strategy to address current and future competitive landscape
  • Drive growth of volume from parent-initiated channels through collaboration with the commercial strategy team, identifying opportunities for acceleration through innovative partnerships and other volume driving activities.
  • Partner closely with the medical affairs team to develop marketing programs that support patient advocacy initiatives.
  • Drive spend efficiency to ensure the marketing budget is allocated properly to conserve resources while attaining marketing and business goals.
  • optimize paid marketing efforts, ensuring high ROI for consumer initiatives.
  • Partner with the commercial strategy team to develop and execute end-to-end consumer journey work, influencing and informing product development.
  • Leverage strategic-thinking and problem-solving skills to achieve business goals in a customer-centric, innovative, and value-driven manner.
  • Bring a relentless drive and curiosity to assess and define the key value drivers, brand narrative, and messaging and positioning frameworks to attract, convert and retain customers across our key audience segments.
  • Accountable for agency relationships, including the to drive value, innovation, and impact to support consumer strategy

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of proven experience in consumer marketing, preferably in the healthcare or genetic testing industry.
  • Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication abilities.
  • Demonstrated success in executing multi-channel marketing campaigns.
  • Ability to develop compelling marketing materials and messaging.
  • Experience in optimizing marketing spend and driving high ROI.
  • Proven track record of designing and executing successful customer engagement strategies.
  • Exceptional strategic-thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
