Department: Global Navigator Programs, High School Summer Abroad 
Location:    
Remote- Southern California and Phoenix, Arizona
Compensation: $45,000-$66,000 annual salary (On target earnings, inclusive of eligible incentive pay)

Who you are: 

The School Outreach and Enrollment Coordinator, High School Summer Abroad is a sales role responsible for driving sales through school outreach and managing student enrollment. From August to November, you will build relationships with new schools through targeted and persistent outreach via phone, email, networking, and events. Around December, your role will pivot to student enrollment and application pipeline management. You are responsible for proactively moving applications through every stage of the application and pre-departure process, including initial inquiries, application review and acceptance, participant confirmation, and pre-departure guidance. Successful candidates will be proactive and creative in prospecting new school partners. They will also be motivating in moving students through the sales pipeline, building trust with families and driving conversion. Relationship building is your passion, and you approach your work with a sales mindset, knowing that every student who studies abroad is having a transformative experience.

 

What you’ll do

  • Conduct a high volume of strategic outreach to U.S. high schools to build new relationships with school contacts and nurture existing accounts.
  • Understand the characteristics of what makes a successful school partnership, how to efficiently research and find high potential schools, and then quickly identify and connect with the school’s decision maker(s).
  • Leverage program alumni and existing school networks to target new U.S. high schools and expand our reach.
  • Tailor your approach and goal of new school outreach to each individual school’s characteristics and history with CIEE.
  • Communicate the value and tangible outcomes of study abroad programming to a wide array of audiences: teachers, administrators, students, and parents.
  • Schedule school meetings on behalf of your Manager and attend when appropriate.
  • Represent CIEE at a variety of educator, student, and parent-facing events including tabling at fairs, in-class presentations, parent nights, and meetings with administrators. This requires some evening hours and domestic travel.
  • Follow a structured outreach process to proactively engage with interested leads and applicants via phone, text, and email outreach.
  • Motivate and coach participants and families through the scholarship and application process. Work with families to overcome barriers associated with studying abroad in high school.
  • Provide professional and timely customer service to students and parents throughout the entire application process, including program acceptance, confirmation, and pre-departure preparedness.
  • Ability to work through a high daily call volume, 20-60 calls per day depending on the time of year.
  • Host virtual student and parent-facing webinars, presenting to large groups at a time. This requires some evening hours.
  • Review applications, accept applicants, and convert them to paid participants.
  • Ensure that financial accounts for participants are accurate and paid in full and follow up on discrepancies and missing payments.
  • Use reports within Salesforce (CRM system) to manage your applicant pipeline and reach sales goals.
  • Maintain accurate records of communication with customers in Salesforce (CRM system).
  • Provide on-program participant support during the summer months.
  • Domestic travel as needed to support student recruitment.
  • International travel up to once per year to chaperone student group flights.
  • Participate in sales trainings.
  • Flexibility to work some evening hours to reach students and guardians when they’re available.
  • Responsible for providing emergency support during 1-2 travel weekends per year.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What you’ll bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree or international equivalent.
  • A minimum of 2 years of sales or customer service experience.
  • The ability to navigate challenging conversations.
  • Knowledge of U.S. education system and working with high schools is a plus.
  • International travel or study abroad experience is a plus.
  • Experience working with diverse high school students is a plus.
  • Additional language skills beyond English are a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, with the ability to understand and tailor your communication to different audiences.
  • Strong organization skills and attention to detail.
  • Flexibility to work some evening hours as the sales cycle demands.

Location Requirements:

The remote position is available to candidates in Southern California and Arizona.
