Job description

The Kardex Group is one of the world's leading manufacturers of dynamic storage, retrieval, and distribution systems. With over 2,000 employees worldwide, we develop and manufacture innovative logistics solutions for various industries, including industrial production, trade, and administration.

As a Senior Accountant Nordics, you will be a key player in ensuring the smooth and accurate operation of accounting processes and payroll activities. Collaboration is central to this role as you will work closely with your colleagues in our Nordic Finance team.

Our finance team is relatively young in terms of years with the company, so collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and team building is essential for achieving success. We are also entering a transformative period with upcoming transitions in digitalization and the implementation of new systems. This requires someone who is not only experienced but also open to change and eager to contribute to shaping the future of our processes. We are currently transitioning from a setup where one individual managed payroll for all Nordic countries to a new structure, dividing payroll responsibilities into two specialized roles.

This position is based in Kjeller, Norway, or Gothenburg, Sweden, with the flexibility of a hybrid working model.

Your tasks

Your primary responsibilities include:
Payroll Coordination (Focus on Denmark and Norway)
•    Collaborate with the outsourced payroll provider (Azets) to coordinate monthly payrolls for Norway and Denmark.
•    Process employee expenses, ensuring accuracy and compliance with the company’s policies and local regulations.
•    Work closely with payroll colleagues managing Sweden and Finland to align on processes and ensure consistency across the Nordics.
•    Address and resolve payroll discrepancies and errors.
•    Support payroll-related queries and reporting.
•    Ensure compliance with local laws, including data privacy regulations.
•    Provide training/support for employees and oversee process improvements in payroll administration.

Accounting and Financial Management
•    Book payments and ensure timely and accurate reporting of VAT and taxes to government authorities.
•    Reconcile and maintain control of balance sheet accounts.
•    Conduct credit control to monitor and manage outstanding payments and customer credit risks.
•    Process AP invoices and handle intercompany recharges.
•    Improve routines and ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal policies.
•    Support month-end and year-end closings and assist with audits.

Your profile

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive professional with strong accounting and payroll expertise. Ideally, you bring:

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of relevant payroll and financial experience, with expertise in Denmark and Norway payroll considered a strong advantage.
  • Skills:
    • Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks to meet strict deadlines.
    • Proficiency in IT systems, including Excel; familiarity with Azets is an advantage.
    • Strong problem-solving abilities and a structured, detail-oriented approach.
    • A team-player mindset with the ability to collaborate effectively within a close-knit team.
  • Language: Fluent in English and either Swedish, Danish or Norwegian.
  • Mindset: A self-driven and results-oriented individual who thrives in a collaborative environment, embraces change, and sees opportunities in digital transformation and process improvements.

Why Join Us?

At Kardex, you’ll be part of a Nordic and global environment with ambitious goals. This role offers you the chance to:

  • Collaborate closely with a skilled and motivated payroll and finance team across the Nordic countries.
  • Contribute to a new and evolving setup for payroll responsibilities, helping shape processes for greater efficiency.
  • Develop expertise in Nordic payroll and accounting processes while driving improvements and ensuring compliance
  • Play a key role in the company’s journey toward digitalization and new systems, contributing to innovation and growth.
