Job description

We are looking for an Implementation Consultant to join our Implementation Services Team.

Reporting to the ‘Manager, Service Implementation’, the Implementation Consultant will deliver a range of services to our customers, including consulting, system analysis, configuration, web-based training, workshops, implementation assistance, and customer guidance. Directly interacting with our customers, this role involves technical responsibilities and extensive consulting on workflows, configuration decisions, and migration questions. Additionally, the role requires collaboration with various stakeholders within Ex Libris, such as Professional Services Teams in other regions, Global Support Teams, the Cloud Team, and Product Management.

This is an excellent opportunity to work on onboarding our software library products. If you have experience with library workflows, are tech-savvy and have a strong customer focus, we would love to hear from you.

About You – experience, education, skills, and accomplishments.

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.

  • At least 5 years of experience working in structured libraries or implementing software in a SaaS environment.

  • Fluency in English is required, along with proficiency in at least one other European language, preferably Italian. German or French are also highly desirable.

It would be great if you also had…

  • Working knowledge of Ex Libris products.

  • Experience with project management.  

  • Knowledge of workflows and industry standards in the academic/public library market or the sector of higher education.

  • Experience with MS Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint). Metadata and web technologies is a plus.

What will you be doing in this role?

  • Provide consulting, guidance, and assistance to customers throughout the project lifecycle to ensure a successful implementation and high customer satisfaction.

  • Conduct system and data analysis for our library software products implementations.

  • Interpret and understand customer requirements and workflows, translating them into effective solutions.

  • Configure software products based on customer requirements.

  • Analyse and troubleshoot customer issues and requests.

  • Train customers on our products through web-based sessions or on-site workshops, offering knowledge transfer and support for workflow and configuration decisions.

  • Coordinate implementation activities with project managers and other members of the Professional Services organization, as well as with other global Clarivate teams.

  • Use internal systems and predefined procedures to perform and document implementation tasks.

  • Contribute to the development and improvement of standard procedures and tools.

  • Provide project management for small scale projects and take responsibility for the coordination of all project work, project planning, monitoring, tracking, communication, reporting, risk management and escalations.

About the Team

You will join the Ex Libris Professional Services EMEA team, which consists of around 40 people located in different EMEA countries.

The role reports to the Manager, Service Implementation, based in Italy.

Hours of Work

This is a full-time, permanent position based remotely in UK or Spain.

This position requires weekday (Monday - Friday) attendance with some scheduling flexibility available to adjust to various global time zones as needed. The teams you will work with are primarily located in EMEA.

This position will require around 5% travel.
