What you will do:
As a Senior Data Analyst, you'll collaborate with various teams to discover how the use of product related datasets can impact the business. You will work on strategic, data-driven automation projects with Marketing and Sales to attract more customers, collaborate with Sales enablement to make sure we keep churn low and make upsells easier and look for patterns in our data to establish Lighthouse as a thought leader in the hospitality industry.
Where you will have impact:
- You will acquire expert knowledge about Lighthouse data assets and find creative ways of how they can be used to improve our business outcomes: from hospitality data (prices, occupancies, etc.) through internally generated data (application usage, finance, sales, etc) to open datasets.
- You will translate loosely defined problems into actionable recommendations and execute them. Bringing structure and clarity will be important.
- You will solidify collaborative relationships with Sales and Marketing teams: you will be tasked with understanding their needs and proposing solutions and collaboration processes.
- You will build and help evaluate Proof of Concepts of data automation projects. Think about projects like using our app usage data in combination with hospitality market trends to help prevent churn, or about helping marketing teams to reach the right audience with the right insights to create a FOMO effect.
- You will search for macro level insights to enable our content teams to write compelling stories and establish Lighthouse as a thought leader in the hospitality industry.
- You will help us improve our sales and marketing efficiency through automation, insights and creative problem solving
About our team:
Lighthouse is not only a data-driven company, we are a data company. The heart of all our products is data. It enables hotels to make the right decisions and fuel our analytical solutions. Being a growth company enables us to regularly attract new and interesting datasets, which can unlock new product directions. Today we process billions of data points and +100TB of data on a daily basis, containing hotels' pricing information, search data, hotel bookings, etc. All of that using modern technologies.
The Product Data Analytics team is part of the Data Organization (within Engineering). It’s a newly established team, created with a mission to leverage our product datasets for more than just the actual products. What it means:
- Empowering marketing and sales team with relevant product data insights & market trends.
- Ensure data driven decision making by combining self-service Product Usage Analytics with actionable curated insights.
- Collaborate with the User Research team on foundational projects.
- Guide Product trios to perform experimentation and gradual rollouts.
- Run Proof of Concepts and experiments for Data Solutions.
Who you are:
- You should have at least 3 years of data analytics experience, preferably in B2B/B2C SaaS or enterprise software.
- You are a high-energy professional with a passion for data, attention to detail, and a positive attitude.
- You can manage all kinds of business stakeholders and champion a data-driven culture within the organisation.
- You are a strong communicator that can describe complex topics in a simple way to a variety of technical and non-technical stakeholders - in both written and spoken English.
- You are able to present concrete examples of analytics insights and transparently illustrate their impact on business, while also crafting compelling stories with data that drive change among teams and stakeholders.
- You embrace constructive feedback, and confidently express opinions.
- You have solid relational modelling (SQL) and programming skills (preferably in Python).
- You know your statistics.
- You can create compelling data visualizations using tools like Tableau or Looker Studio (or anything similar - we all know learning a new BI tool is not an issue!)
- You can follow standard software engineering practices, e.g. use of version control.
We welcome:
- Experience with product analytics tools (e.g. Mixpanel, Pendo, Amplitude, Heap...)
- Experience solving problems with real-world data
- Experience in working with GCP solutions (BQ, VertexAI)
- Experience with Data Engineering frameworks like airflow
Technologies you’ll work with:
SQL (Google’s BigQuery), python, Looker Studio / Tableau (whatever makes more sense for the task), Mixpanel, Looker (using LookML included), Segment, terraform, and occasionally probably airflow and Excel (only if necessary).
