Job description

Role: UI Software Developer
Position Type: Full-Time Contract (40hrs/week)
Contract Duration: Long Term
Work Hours: Eastern Standard Time (EST)
Work Schedule: 8 hours/day (Mon-Fri)
Location: 100% Remote (Candidates can work from anywhere in India)

The software developer will work as part of a DevOps team to design, build and unit test web-based applications for a collection of internal software systems. These systems automate the process of capturing Client's mobility services design, and network design to aid in the deployment and configuration of the network functions that are part of each service definition.

Responsibilities:

Create test cases to automate workflows using JEST
Work with the requirements engineers and design and implement the web application components.
Document the design and review with the rest of the teams.
Test the implementation for defects before submitting the code.
Review the test cases prepared by the testing team and provide specific feedback on how the features can be tested.
Work with the test team in case defects are identified during testing.
Guide the test team building automation tools for test automation.
Create / update tickets in Jira
Participate in deployment decisions
Support user community of application
Participate in design discussions/scrum meetings.

Must Have Skills (in priority order):

JEST – javascript testing framework
7+ years of experience in building web applications using the MERN/MEAN stack:
- HTML5/CSS3,
- React and Angular frameworks,
- Node.js and other similar frameworks,
- MongoDB.
7+ years of experience with preprocessors and trans pilers such as SCSS and LESS.
Must have worked in Git, Jira, and other development management environments all their developer career.
A thorough understanding of various data formats (JSON, YAML, …) is critical.
Thorough understanding of all testing principles is essential.

Desired Skills (in priority order):

Development skills for interactive data visualization/charting in web browsers such as D3.js, Angular High Charts, etc.
Linux/UNIX experience
Python development experience
Relational database experience
A basic understanding of networking and network routing concepts is essential. A very good understanding of networking concepts (IP addressing, routing, etc.) is highly desirable.
