Job Description :
GENERAL PURPOSE:
Responsible for producing group benefit Booklets/Contracts to ensure favorable group relations and to conform to the Plan’s legal requirements and state mandates. Gathers benefit information; prepares copy; customizes/writes language as required; edits, proofreads and distributes documents in a timely and accurate manner.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Interact with account managers and company officials regarding benefits designs, benefit programs, interpretation of booklet and contract language, state and federal mandated benefits, underwriting rules and regulations, legal matters, and rate and rating methods as they apply to group booklets and contracts.
2. Document Production
- Gather and verify benefit information
- Customize/write language as required
- Edit and proofread documents
- Distribute documents through the proper channels
3. Internal Customer Support-Serve as consultant to account managers and company officials regarding
- Benefits
- Benefit Programs
- Product Lines
- Interpretation of booklet and contract language
- State and federal mandated benefits
- Underwriting rules and regulations
4. Benefit Review and Verification –
- Verify correctness and completeness of data
- Ensure accuracy of information to be incorporated into benefit booklets and contracts
5. Must meet production goals of the department.
6. May:
- Creates books and contracts that require edits to model language
- ASO booklets (generally not contracts or other documents)
- More complex benefit designs or provisions
- Provides guidance to lower level Document Coordinators / Analysts
7. Other duties as assigned or requested.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education, Experience, Licenses/Certifications
Minimum
- High School diploma or GED.
- 5-10 years of relevant, progressive experience in the area of specialization
- Experience with product and benefit design
- Microsoft Office experience (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
Preferred
- BS in Business Administration
- Experience reviewing and proofreading legal documents

$24.53
Pay Range Maximum:
$38.00
Base pay is determined by a variety of factors including a candidate’s qualifications, experience, and expected contributions, as well as internal peer equity, market, and business considerations. The displayed salary range does not reflect any geographic differential Highmark may apply for certain locations based upon comparative markets.
