What you’ll do in this role:
In this new role you will be responsible for ensuring Integer has a compelling and fully aligned strategy for Manufacturing Equipment and Technology. You will ensure that return on investment on the current asset base is maximized, differentiated manufacturing technology capabilities are developed, optimal equipment and technology investments are made, and best in industry outcomes are achieved.
This role will collaborate closely with the leader of the Manufacturing & Development footprint strategy. The joint goal is to have an aligned and efficient investment model where capital deployment decisions are optimized across the enterprise. There will be a major focus on ensuring current and future capital is utilized to industry benchmark levels and return on investment is maximized.
Key Role Responsibilities:
Data Gathering & Analysis - Manufacturing Equipment and Technology
- Create a registry of assets, assess current technology, equipment, automation and level of differentiation.
- Document current approach and understand what works and where opportunities lie.
- Assess current ROI on large or strategic investments
- Understand and quantify what manufacturing assets are unique / common to which sites.
- Take action where quick win opportunities are identified.
- Utilize the information and learnings gained from the above work to inform decision making
Strategy Development and Execution - Manufacturing Equipment and Technology
- Develop and revise annually a Manufacturing Technology/Automation Strategy for Integer. Ensure alignment with senior leadership.
- Develop a set of global Standards, Requirements, and Specifications for:
- IT and integration requirements with key company systems (e.g., ERP, MES).
- Safety, Ergonomics, and User Interface standards.
- Quality requirements – traceability, record retention, Qualification, Validation.
- Performance standards and expectations – OEE, Downtime, Yield, etc.
- Spares and Services requirements.
- Business Case Modes
- Generate Business case mode for Manufacturing Technology and Automation investments specifying required ROI, Payback, etc.
- Ensure the new standard Business case model is used for all new projects.
- Intellectual Property Management:
- File ‘Trade Secret’ applications for the top Integer IP differentiated technologies.
- Develop and implement plans to maximize external funding from government grants and other outside agencies.
Innovation and Performance - Manufacturing Equipment and Technology
- Technology Development & Selection:
- Research and select Machine Learning and AI technologies best suited to Integer’s needs.
- Performance Management and KPI’s
- Benchmark industry best-in-class performance metrics for manufacturing equipment utilization and develop targets for both standard and bespoke type equipment
- Implement a standardized system for measuring manufacturing equipment performance across all sites, including KPI’s for OEE, downtime, and yield.
Supplier and Asset Management
- Partner with Director of Indirect Sourcing to select external strategic Suppliers for the top Manufacturing Equipment and Technology areas.
- Support negotiations for discounted pricing for Equipment, Spares, and Maintenance services
Continuous Improvement & Operational Excellence
- Performance Improvement: Collaborate with Sites and drive Manufacturing Equipment and Technology improvement programs to achieve an annual run cost/OEE improvement of 2% to 5%.
- Leadership and Industry Positioning:
- Drive activities and programs that ensure Integer is the leader in Manufacturing Technology within the CDMO industry.
- Collaborate directly with peers, customers and thought leaders, both internal and external.
Leadership and People Development
- Team Management:
- Set-up and implement a matrix Org Structure for Manufacturing Equipment and Technology.
- Lead direct reports, which include a combination of engineering managers and senior-level engineering professionals.
- Define the goals and objectives for your direct reports with supporting Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in Safety, Quality, Delivery, Productivity and Cost improvement
- Champion talent development through individual growth and succession planning across the plant network.
- Quality & Compliance Leadership:
- Promote a culture of quality within the Manufacturing Technology team.
- Ensure adherence to QMS, facilitate corrective and preventive actions, and lead the team’s journey toward 5 Sigma quality.
- Ensure compliance with all Environmental, Health, Safety, and Security protocols.

Critical Experiences:
- Education – Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering, manufacturing, or a related technical field.
- Industry Experience – 15+ years of experience, including 10+ years in Technology/Engineering management.
- Leadership & Team Development – Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop teams, with a focus on promoting a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
- Manufacturing Technology Leadership – Proven experience developing and driving technology integration.
- Multi-Site Leadership – Proven track record managing responsibilities across multiple geographically dispersed sites.
- Project Management – Hands-on experience managing large-scale technical projects, ensuring timely and budgeted delivery.
- Operational Efficiency & Performance Optimization – Demonstrated success using Lean, Six Sigma, or other methodologies to drive efficiency and performance (OEE, downtime, yield improvements).
- Financial Acumen – Ability to manage budgets, conduct capital investment analysis, and link operational results to financial outcomes.
- Regulatory Compliance & Industry Standards – Knowledge of industry regulations and experience ensuring compliance with ISO, FDA, or other relevant standards.
