Overview

We're looking for a driven and talented individual to join our growing team at Atlassian in a remote IP Paralegal role based out of the US Pacific timezone focusing on supporting all aspects of the IP function at Atlassian. Reporting to our Head of IP, this is your opportunity to be part of an exciting, fast-growing company with an amazing culture and legal team.

Responsibilities

In This Role, You'll Get To support the IP team in all aspects such as:

  • Support the IP team in day-to-day activities involving all aspects of intellectual property & litigation matters.
  • Manage an intellectual property portfolio of patents and trademarks, including assisting in maintaining the patent database and interacting with our outside counsel regarding filings at the USPTO, metrics, inventor incentives, and dashboards.
  • Perform various administrative tasks, including managing and tracking deliverables both internally and externally, IP vendor and contractor management, monitoring service desks and triaging incoming IP issues, budget tracking, helping organize team ITGs, and tracking metrics for different IP team functions.
  • Support all aspects of IP litigation efforts, e.g. complying with discovery requests, responding to subpoena requests, implementing legal hold procedures.
  • Support the open-source program by helping track product compliance with our OSS policy, outreach to engineering teams regarding the policy, and helping organize OSS trainings.
  • Collaborate with Legal SMEs to build out and maintain self-serve knowledge base materials.
  • Partner with Legal SMEs to drive the IP Training Program, collaborating with business stakeholders to build IP needs into internal innovation events/campaigns, including building out content and coordinating training delivery.
  • Champion and cultivate cross-team relationships to organize and manage dependencies.


On Your First Day, We'll Expect You To Have

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or Associate’s degree in legal services, paralegal certificate from an ABA-accredited program is a plus.
  • 5 or more years of experience as a paralegal or equivalent position, with intellectual property and litigation experience being strongly preferred.
  • Strong organizational and program management skills.
  • Comfortable with learning and using different tools for organization and program management.
  • Passion to understand our products, our culture, and our business model.
  • Drive to improve on existing systems and methods.

Compensation

At Atlassian, we strive to design equitable, explainable, and competitive compensation programs. To support this goal, the baseline of our range is higher than that of the typical market range, but in turn we expect to hire most candidates near this baseline. Base pay within the range is ultimately determined by a candidate's skills, expertise, or experience. In the United States, we have three geographic pay zones. For this role, our current base pay ranges for new hires in each zone are:

Zone A: $132,900 - $177,200

Zone B: $119,600 - $159,500

Zone C: $110,300 - $147,100

This role may also be eligible for benefits, bonuses, commissions, and equity.
