About The OPPORTUNITY

We have a great opportunity for a Software Engineer to join our Red Ochre Program based at Adelaide, reporting to the Software Architect.

We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, such as working a 9-day fortnight.

You will be responsible for completing own engineering activities in accordance with the relevant project procedures and work instructions, and where applicable regulatory requirements. They may also provide leadership to a small team and/or provide mentoring to other team members.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Undertake all assigned Software Engineering activities, including related documentation, in accordance with identified project directives and standards, and commensurate with the lifecycle stage of the project
  • Provide regular status information to relevant supervisors, as required
  • Where applicable, provide guidance, mentoring and/or leadership to junior software engineers in their activities
  • Where applicable, lead a small team of software engineers to deliver an allocated package of work


About YOU

  • Experience in C++, C# is considered desirable
  • Experience working with embedded systems and hardware is considered desirable
  • A relevant tertiary qualification in IT is considered desirable, a Mechatronics degree is preferred
  • Defence security clearance or eligibility to obtain NV1
  • Eligibility to be cleared for International Traffic in Arms (ITAR) regulations
