LocalStack is headquartered in Zurich/Switzerland, with a development office in Vienna/Austria and remote team members from around the world (incl. US, FR, UK, IN, IT, MX, IE).

As a Developer Educator on the LocalStack Developer Relations team, your primary focus will be on enabling developers to effectively use and evaluate LocalStack's technology. You will create and maintain educational materials that serve both as advocacy tools and as resources for developer enablement. You will actively engage with the community to understand their learning needs and collaborating to produce relevant educational content.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advocacy and Enablement:
    • Develop and maintain comprehensive learning journeys across LocalStack's site, with a particular focus on developer documentation, the developer hub and the blog.
    • Create a variety of educational materials such as written documentation, blog posts, tutorials, videos, and other learning resources.
    • Repurpose educational materials for outreach and marketing campaigns to advocate for LocalStack's technology.
  • Community Engagement:
    • Engage with the developer community to understand their learning needs.
    • Collaborate with LocalStack’s community members to broaden the reach of content they create while encouraging them to create additional content.
    • Foster a supportive learning environment by providing feedback and resources to community contributors.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Measure where developers encounter difficulties and adjust educational materials accordingly.
    • Use feedback and data to continuously refine and improve learning resources and documentation.
    • Work with LocalStack’s enterprise customers to ensure that the resources we provide address their specific needs.

Key Candidate Requirements:

  • Experience in developer education or strong familiarity with pedagogical techniques.
  • Proven ability in designing and maintaining learner journeys.
  • Experience in measuring learning outcomes and adjusting materials to improve understanding and retention.
  • Ability to read and write code and understand the underlying technologies involved in LocalStack.
  • Competence in producing traditional technical documentation.
  • Proficiency in creating diverse educational content including blog posts, video tutorials, and written tutorials.
  • Strong empathy for developer workflows and needs.
  • Ability to break down complex ideas and present them in an accessible manner suitable for the target audience's skill level.
  • Excellent communication skills for writing, presenting, and collaborating with the community.
