Summary of Job Duties:
The RME Technician is responsible for ensuring that Sterile Processing/ Perioperative Department prep/assembly and core technicians have reasonable access and information to find the reusable medical equipment (RME) they need to do their jobs (i.e. surgical/procedural instrumentation/implants requiring UAMS sterilization/scopes/etc.). RME Technician understand the urgency of staff’s requests; staff answers directly to the RME Inventory Supervisor.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED PLUS good communication skills and ability to handle demanding and/or stressful requests.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • One year experience as an Instrument Tech or recent certification as an Instrument Tech.

  • Certified Instrument Tech.


Additional Information:

Responsibilities:

  • Managing inventory in all RME designated locations.

  • Actively participating in searching for instrumentation in non-RME designated locations (i.e. decon, prep/assembly, OR, etc.).

  •  Preparing newly purchased instruments/sets for circulation.

  • Par level management including cycle counts, scanning items in/out etc.

  • Reconciliation of inventory into sets; completion of sets with missing items; returned to circulation (missing/holding rack).

  • Etching, set building, count sheets, Censitrac upload, etc


Salary Information:

Commensurate with education and experience
