About the Role & Team

The Manager of Motion Design at PENN Entertainment is a strategic leader who drives the integration of motion design across Penn’s digital products, including ESPN Bet, theScore, identity through dynamic, innovative motion graphics, supporting both digital and physical environments. Reporting to the Director of Product Design, you will manage a team of motion designers to create in-app animations, product marketing videos and sizzles that captivate and engage users.

In partnership with the Design and UX leadership, you will develop and implement motion design strategies that connect digital experiences to Penn’s physical entertainment properties. This role requires a creative visionary with a strong grasp of user-centered design, who can articulate complex concepts through compelling visual narratives and guide the team to exceed industry standards.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a high-performing team of motion designers, setting the creative direction and ensuring consistent integration of motion across all digital products.
  • Define and uphold motion design principles within the PENN ecosystem, aligning with brand guidelines and optimizing user engagement.
  • Oversee the production of marketing videos, product demos, and sizzles, ensuring alignment with marketing strategies and brand identity.
  • Create personalized motion design strategies that elevate the Penn brand and captivate users.
  • Stay informed on emerging trends and technologies in motion design to keep the team at the forefront of innovation.
  • Manage project timelines and resources, ensuring timely and high-quality deliverables.
  • Represent the motion design team in strategic meetings, providing insights and creative guidance to senior stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in motion design, with demonstrated experience leading teams or projects within entertainment, gaming, or tech.
  • Proficiency in Figma, Rive, Adobe After Effects, Premiere, and Cinema4D.
  • Ability to lead creative projects in an agile environment, adhering to project management best practices.
  • Excellent communication skills, with experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve shared goals.
  • Experience managing or coordinating remote team members, fostering a positive and inclusive team culture.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire creativity and excellence within the team.
