Job Overview:

Remote Office, acting as a dedicated HR partner for our clients, is on the hunt of a highly skilled and experienced Estimator to join our client’s team. The Estimator will play a critical role in preparing accurate estimates for residential and commercial construction projects. This role requires close collaboration with architects, engineers, contractors, and project managers to ensure cost-effective project execution from concept to completion.

Key Responsibilities:

• Attending pre-tender meetings to assess project requirements and discuss cost-saving measures.
• Prepare estimates of probable costs for residential and commercial projects ranging from $1M to $8M.
• Review architectural plans to identify discrepancies and collaborate with architects and engineers to resolve issues.
• Create detailed scopes of work for subcontractors and obtain competitive quotes.
• Manage the formal tender process and prepare final tender documents.
• Assign and manage subcontractors, ensuring timely procurement of materials.
• Assist in project management, including overseeing daily administrative tasks and monitoring construction progress.
• Process variations and price adjustments as required during project execution.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in construction management or equivalent.
• Craftsman’s Certificate (Carpentry & Joinery) and Building Certificate.
• Proficiency in estimating software and tools, including Bluebeam, Data Build and MS Project.
• Strong understanding of construction methodologies and project management practices.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with clients and stakeholders.
• Proven experience in residential and commercial construction, particularly high-end projects.

Experience:

• Over 5 years of experience in estimating and project management across residential, commercial, and industrial sectors.
• Previous roles include Senior Estimator and Contracts Administrator for major construction projects.

Software Skills:

• Bluebeam- Highly Required
• BuildXact, MS Project, Excel, Buildertrend and Xero.
• Cubit- Good to have

Personal Attributes:

• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
