Development Manager
Location: Remote within NY, NJ, or CT
The Role
ColorStack is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Development Manager to partner with the CEO in driving both the strategic vision and execution of the organization's fundraising efforts. The Development Manager will develop and manage our philanthropic funder portfolio, foster relationships, identify collaboration opportunities, and ultimately secure long-term funding to advance the mission of ColorStack.
The ideal candidate excels in crafting strategic plans and, equally importantly, in executing them. About ColorStack
ColorStack is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 2020 by Jehron Petty with the mission to increase the number of Black and Latinx Computer Science graduates that go on to start rewarding technical careers. Since inception ColorStack has cultivated a community of 13000+ students from 1000+ schools across the country, representing 10% of all Black and Latinx computer science students in the U.S. To date, ColorStack has raised over $6M in funding, and developed relationships with 50+ of the worlds top tech companies.

What Youll Do
Develop and implement targeted fundraising strategies to secure foundation support.
Research and qualify new funding opportunities, ensuring alignment with ColorStack's mission and goals.
Establish and maintain strong relationships with foundation prospects through consistent communication and outreach.
Lead the end-to-end grant proposal process, from drafting to submission, ensuring timely and high-quality applications.
Track and report on grant performance, providing regular updates to both funders and internal stakeholders.
Collaborate with program teams to gather essential data and compelling evidence for proposals.
Equip the ColorStack team with the skills and strategies needed to effectively build relationships and successfully close funding opportunities.
Represent ColorStack at events, conferences, and meetings, fostering partnerships and advocating for our mission.
Partner with leadership to refine and execute overarching fundraising strategies.
Preferred Qualifications
5-7 years of experience in fundraising development.
Raised over $2M annually from traditional philanthropic foundations.
Analytical mindset with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
Proficiency in HubSpot, Notion, and Google Suite.
Strong understanding of the tech industry and university recruiting processes.
Highly organized with a strong attention to detail.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Compensation & Position Type
Compensation & Benefits: The salary range for this position is $90,000-$100K and includes a robust benefits package, including Medical and Dental Insurance, flexible paid time off, 401(k) with a 3% match, an annual professional development budget, two company retreats, and Team Coaching.
