The Product Owner is responsible for defining and prioritizing the product backlog to ensure the development team delivers a high-value product that aligns with business goals and user needs. This role involves collaborating closely with stakeholders, understanding market demands, and translating those insights into actionable requirements. The Product Owner will articulate and refine the product vision, create user stories, prioritize features, and work with the team to ensure successful delivery of each iteration. Key responsibilities include managing the product roadmap, making informed trade-off decisions, and acting as the voice of the customer within the Agile team. The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical, communication, and decision-making skills, along with a passion for delivering exceptional products.

Responsibilities

• Identify and refine customer needs and program strategy
• Own and refine the vision of the program and products
• Effectively break down the program vision into features and epics
• Prioritize the features and epics on the program backlog
• Derive an Agile program roadmap from the program backlog
• Define the minimum viable products and establish success criteria
• Elicit requirements from the client and other stakeholders or workgroups
• Collaborate with a wide range of individuals on the Agile team and work with them to design technically feasible solutions that meet the client’s needs
• Write user stories and prioritize them based on the requirements

Qualifications

Qualifications

• US citizen or Authorized to Work and lived in the US for 3 of the last 5 years. Must be able to obtain a U.S. Federal government client badge and pass a government Public Trust.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 6+ years of experience as a Product Owner or in a similar role in product management.
• Proficiency in Agile methodologies, including experience with tools like JIRA or Aha!
• Strong analytical skills and an ability to translate business needs into technical requirements.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

The salary range provided represents the estimated compensation for new hires in this position, applicable across all locations. Actual offers may vary based on factors such as the candidate's skills, qualifications, experience, and market conditions. Index complements its base salary offering with a competitive package that includes health and retirement benefits, discretionary bonuses, and reimbursement for professional development opportunities.
