Deutsch Family Wine & Spirits is currently seeking Vice President, Business Intelligence who possesses the below qualifications and responsibilities:
- Lead a Cross-Functional Team: Manage a team of 16 analytics leaders to deliver holistic insights through unique storytelling, ensuring strategic decisions for long-term growth.
- Integrate Advanced Capabilities: Implement industry-leading analytics and visualization across business intelligence, performance management, marketing analytics, and e-commerce.
- Training and Development: Develop a robust training curriculum to ensure consistent analytic and storytelling expertise.
- Industry Positioning: Position DFWS as an innovative, credible, and trusted wine & spirits expert.
- Thought Leadership: Advise the EVP of Sales on performance insights, execution opportunities, and tactical recommendations to achieve annual goals.
- Collaborative Insights: Work with Distributor Management and Marketing teams to deep dive analyses and actionable recommendations to ensure informed decision-making and support delivery of the annual depletions plan.
- Performance Analysis: Conduct quarterly and monthly analyses to ensure visibility of industry and company outlooks.
- Strategic Presentations: Prepare & present analyses of economic trends, shopper needs, opportunities, and risks to influence Executive & Board decisions.
- Innovation Support: Evaluate potential offerings and competitive environment to support innovation and acquisition processes.
- Advanced Analytics: Provide expertise on projects requiring advanced analytics and modeling.
- Syndicated Data Budget: Oversee a $4MM budget, negotiate contracts, and maintain relationships with data partners to ensure quality and ROI.
- Evaluate New Solutions: Identify and propose new data sources and technological innovations.
- Data Democratization: Ensure company-wide access to data through standardized reporting and training programs.
- Collaborate with IT: Develop and launch new solutions with IT to enhance data access and execution efforts.
- CRM Development: Identify opportunities to enhance the effectiveness of internal CRM solution
- Annual Planning: Manage the “Building Block” process to ensure distributor alignment to growth expectations.
- Channel Planning: Collaborate with the EVP of Sales to develop channel-specific planning guidance.
- Execution Tactics: Quantify the value of execution tactics across brands and markets.
- Demand Forecasting: Support EVP of Sales on all long-term demand forecasting based on performance expectations.
- Strategic Initiatives: Serve as the commercial expert on strategic initiatives, including acquisitions and growth plans.
Qualifications:
Industry-Specific Knowledge:
- Wine & Spirits Industry: In-depth knowledge of the wine and spirits market, including trends, competitors, and consumer behavior.
- Sales and Marketing: Understanding of sales strategies, marketing analytics, and performance management.
- Three-Tier System: Familiarity with the innerworkings of the distributor network and ways of working
Leadership and Management:
- Team Leadership: Proven experience in leading and managing cross-functional teams.
- Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop and implement strategic plans that align with organizational goals.
- Project Management: Strong project management skills to oversee multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Training and Development: Experience in developing and implementing training programs.
Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills:
- Critical Thinking: Ability to analyze complex data and provide actionable insights.

Technical Skills:
- Syndicated Data Sources: Proficiency with data sources like Circana, Numerator, Mintel, Nielsen, IWSR, and VIP.
- Advanced & Custom Analytics: Understand of advanced analytic models such as Marketing Mix, Price Elasticity and Custom Panel.
- BI Visualization Tools: Experience with BI tools like COGNOS, CRM, Unify and other relevant platforms.
- Data Management: Expertise in managing large datasets and ensuring data quality and integrity.
