Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Engineering Manager to lead and inspire our Data Engineering team. You will oversee the design, development, and maintenance of data infrastructure, ensuring the delivery of scalable, reliable, and high-performance data solutions. This role requires strong technical expertise, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally to meet business goals. This position is full-time and offers a hybrid work arrangement, combining both remote and on-site work if located in the Alpharetta area. 


RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Leadership & Team Management: 

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Data Engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment. 

Develop career growth plans and provide regular feedback and performance evaluations. 

  • Hire, onboard, and retain top talent to strengthen the team. 

Technical Strategy & Execution: 

  • Oversee the design and implementation of data pipelines, ETL processes, and data infrastructure to meet business needs. 

  • Drive the adoption of best practices in data engineering, including scalability, reliability, and data governance.

  • Provide guidance on data architecture and lead the selection of technologies, tools, and frameworks. 

Collaboration & Cross-functional Leadership: 

  • Partner with data analytics and data science, product, and business teams to understand data needs and align technical efforts with business objectives. 

  • Communicate complex technical concepts and trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders. 

  • Foster a culture of data-driven decision-making across the organization. 

Innovation & Continuous Improvement: 

  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and innovations in data engineering, big data, and cloud technologies. 

  • Champion initiatives to continuously improve data quality, performance, and reliability. 

  • Promote a culture of continuous learning and professional development within the team.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: 

  • 7+ years of experience in data engineering, with 3+ years in a leadership or managerial role. 

  • Strong technical expertise in data engineering, including proficiency with: 

    • Data pipeline design (ETL, ELT) 

    • Data warehousing solutions (e.g., Snowflake) 

    • Big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) 

    • Cloud platforms (AWS) 

    • SQL, Python, and other scripting languages 

    • CI/CD, version control, and data quality management practices 

  • Demonstrated experience leading and scaling data engineering teams in fast-paced, dynamic environments. 

  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills. 

  • Passion for mentoring and developing engineering talent.


PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Experience with real-time data processing and streaming technologies (e.g., Kafka, Flink). 

  • Familiarity with machine learning pipelines and data science workflows. 

  • Proven ability to manage stakeholders, prioritize tasks, and deliver complex projects on time.


Compensation and Benefits: 

  • Compensation range: $116k - $193k

Traditional Physical Requirements
