Job Description: Business Development Manager

The Davinci Company, a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), specializes in providing generic pharmaceuticals, medical supplies and equipment to federal government agencies. We are seeking motivated service members and veterans as Business Development Managers to join our growing team. This role is pivotal to driving revenue, expanding our customer base within the federal sector, and supporting our mission to serve those who serve.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Federal Sales Strategy: Develop and execute strategic plans to identify and secure contracts with federal government agencies, including the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Department of Defense (DoD), and other healthcare-focused government entities.
  • Opportunity Identification: Research, identify, and pursue new business opportunities by leveraging federal procurement databases (e.g., SAM.gov, FPDS, GSA eBuy) and networking within the federal ecosystem.
  • Relationship Building: Cultivate and maintain relationships with key decision-makers, contracting officers, and procurement officials within target agencies.
  • Proposal Development: Work collaboratively with internal teams to draft and submit competitive proposals, including responding to RFQs, RFPs, and other solicitation types.
  • Sales Pipeline Management: Build and manage a robust sales pipeline, ensuring timely follow-up and documentation of all business development activities in CRM tools.
  • Compliance and Knowledge: Stay current on federal procurement regulations, small business requirements, and SDVOSB advantages to leverage opportunities effectively.
  • Market Intelligence: Monitor trends in government purchasing, identify gaps in agency needs, and recommend product offerings that align with procurement priorities.
  • Networking and Representation: Attend trade shows, industry events, and networking forums to promote The Davinci Company and identify partnership opportunities.

The Person We’re Looking For (You don’t need every one of these—Please Apply!!):
  • Medical Experience: Experience in military healthcare roles, such as nurse, medic, corpsman, or medical technician.
  • Clinical Knowledge: Familiarity with medical supplies, equipment, and hospital workflows, including inventory management and patient care protocols.
  • Hospital Environment Expertise: Hands-on understanding of hospital operations, including working within emergency rooms, clinics, or other medical facilities.
  • Federal Healthcare System Insight: Exposure to or knowledge of VA or DoD healthcare systems, processes, and requirements is a strong plus.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to effectively communicate with healthcare professionals, understand their needs, and recommend solutions.
  • Analytical Abilities: Capacity to analyze medical equipment needs and provide solutions aligned with hospital or agency requirements.
  • Leadership and Teamwork: Proven ability to work as part of a team or lead initiatives in high-pressure environments, drawing on military training and experience.
  • Adaptability: Quick learner with the ability to transition from clinical to business environments while leveraging medical expertise.

Additional assets you might bring to the table:
  • Experience in logistics, procurement, or supply chain operations within a medical context.
  • Familiarity with government procurement processes or contracting terminology.
  • A strong desire to grow within the medical equipment and supplies industry.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create compelling proposals and deliver persuasive presentations.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Veterans or individuals with knowledge of military culture are encouraged to apply.

Preferred Skills:
  • Familiarity with medical supplies and equipment, including procurement specifications and compliance standards.
  • Existing relationships within federal healthcare agencies, particularly the VA or DoD.
