We are seeking a
skilled Linux Administrator to join our team at Simnet. The
ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining, securing,
and optimizing our Linux-based server infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
• Install,
configure, and maintain Linux-based servers, including Ubuntu
and Red Hat.
• Provide
technical support for Linux servers, including
troubleshooting and problem-solving.
• Manage user
accounts and permissions, including file and directory
permissions.
• Implement
security measures, such as firewalls and intrusion
detection systems, to protect Linux servers from cyber
threats.
• Ensure Linux
servers are up-to-date and secure by regularly installing
security patches and updates.
• Automate routine
tasks using Bash scripting and other automation tools.
• Perform backups
and recovery and ensure data integrity.
• Participate in
capacity planning and performance tuning activities.
• Troubleshoot and
Support KVM and OpenStack
• Perform
administration of Kubernetes and Docker
Requirements
• 3-5 years of
experience in Linux administration, specifically with Ubuntu and
Red Hat.
• Experience with
virtualization technologies, such as VMware and KVM.
• Experience with
containerization, such as Kubernetes and Docker.
• Experience with
backup software, such as Veeam or Acronis.
• Experience with
automation tools, such as Bash, Python, or Powershell
• Experience
with configuration management, such as Ansible, Puppet, or Terraform
• Experience
with orchestration, such as Jenkins, Gitlab CI/CD
• Strong knowledge
of Linux security principles and best practices.
• Strong knowledge
of TCP/IP networking protocols, including DNS, DHCP, and
routing.
• Excellent
problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex
issues.
• Excellent
written and verbal communication skills.
• Mentorship -
coach, guide, and provide support to junior team members.
• Ability to work
independently and as part of a team.
Qualifications:

experience in Linux administration, specifically with Ubuntu
and Red Hat.
