MELE Associates is looking for a Senior Security Specialist to join our team located in Lakewood, CO supporting a federal client. This position supports the Office of Intelligence and Counterintelligence, Security Division and will plan, organize, and direct the activities of the security office, ensuring that all security programs comply with regulatory requirements including interpreting and defining policy guidelines, developing, and implementing specific guidelines to meet localized requirements, and monitoring program effectiveness. The candidate will participate in program and project planning efforts to evaluate the need for security requirements and recommend equipment, methods, procedures, and systems, and ensure timely, effective, and professional responsiveness to customers.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Administer all classified collateral and sensitive compartmented information (SCI) programs including associated activities related to information security, Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIFs), collateral spaces, and personnel security access
- Assist in executing the SCI program in accordance with Intelligence Community Directives and Orders within the complex and serve as a point of contact for queries involving all aspects of the SCI Program
- Conduct and review all Intelligence Community certification and accreditation requirements and activities for secured facilities and other compartmented information accesses to a wide variety of other organizations and agencies within the IC nationwide
- Conduct program activities for the SCI personnel, physical, AIS, Technical, COMSEC, OPSEC, Cyber Security and Information Security programs to include surveys, audits, inspections, and performance tests to ensure compliance with all security rules and regulations
- Develop and recommend policies and procedures for all SCI security program areas
- Develop and maintain a security awareness and education program for federal client's headquarters and laboratory security personnel, focusing on the requirements of the SCI program
- Review and provide comments on security directives, and work closely with both physical security personnel and technical personnel to ensure all security requirements are met
- Represent the client at internal/external meetings, working groups, and interagency committees
- Address and complete other ad-hoc SCI program responsibilities in order to assist customer security in meeting mission goals and obligations
- Complete other security program tasks assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Six (6+) or more years of experience and expert knowledge in security principles, concepts, and methodologies in carrying out assignments by performing independent work in the following sub-disciplines with minimal direction:
- Personnel Security
- Physical Security
- AIS Security
- Technical Security
- COMSEC
- OPSEC
- Cyber Security
- Information Security
- Must have a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college in a business-related field
- Apply a comprehensive working knowledge of intelligence support operations, to include national and Director of National intelligence policies and procedures for the proper handling, use, and safeguarding of classified national security information
- Ability to effectively express ideas both orally and in writing, using appropriate language, organizing ideas, and collecting facts in an objective manner
- Ability to work effectively under the pressure of tight time frames and rigid deadlines
- Ability to conduct multiple projects simultaneously using self-judgment to prioritize work as necessary with little outside supervision
- Ability to work with broad national-level security guidelines which provide a general outline of concepts, methods, and goals
- Ability to analyze situations and recommend policies or procedures as work is being accomplished
- Knowledge of basic security concepts, practices, and procedures, and those that apply specifically to the SCI Program
- Knowledge of intelligence operations, interrelationships within the National-level Intelligence Community, and the legal constraints
- Knowledge of the principles and practices associated with the conduct of intelligence operations and the specialized field of Special Security involving security programs for intelligence, intelligence-related information, and classified computer network systems
- Highly refined interpersonal skills are required to deal with high-level officials, representatives of other federal, regional, and local government agencies, representatives of foreign governments, and the private sector
- The selection of an individual for this position may be conditioned upon his or her successful completion of a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination
- Must have an active TS clearance
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master's Degree is preferred
LOCATION: This is an On-Site position in Lakewood, CO.
SALARY: Salaries are determined based on several factors including external market data, internal equity, and the candidate’s related knowledge, skills, and abilities for the position. The range for this position is 85K-95k.
