Location:                   Remote, USA

Employment Type: Full-Time

Compensation:        $205,000.00 - $275,000.00 (Range applies to US candidates only) + Benefits/Variable Comp/Equity - Range may vary based on experience.

Summary

 

OneStream is looking for a Vice President (VP) of Corporate Development to join its leadership team.  The VP, Corporate Development will be a strategic leader responsible for driving the growth and expansion of the fast-growing enterprise software company through mergers, acquisitions, partnerships, and new venture investments. This position requires a visionary professional with a strong background in corporate development, finance, strategic planning, mergers and acquisitions and business development in the technology industry. The successful candidate will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer and will work closely with the full executive team to identify, evaluate, and execute opportunities that align with the company's long-term goals and technological advancements.

 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Strategic Planning and Execution

  • Develop and implement corporate development strategies that align with the company’s long-term goals.
  • Identify and evaluate potential acquisition targets, partnership opportunities, and new venture investments that align with our technological advancements and market positioning.

 

Market Analysis

  • Coordinate closely with Product Marketing team to conduct and assimilate market research and competitive analysis to identify potential opportunities for expansion and investment.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to the executive team to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Monitor industry developments and maintain a robust understanding of the competitive landscape.

 

Financial Modeling

  • Develop financial models for investments and acquisitions, analyze financial performance, and assess the financial impact of strategic initiatives.
  • Manage the “build/buy/partner” framework and Corp Dev tracker.

 

Mergers, Acquisitions & Investments

  • Working with relevant business stakeholders, Identify and evaluate potential acquisition targets, partnership opportunities, and new venture investments that align with our technological advancements and market positioning.
  • Lead due diligence processes, including financial analysis, risk assessment, and integration planning for software-related acquisitions and partnerships.
  • Negotiate terms and conditions of deals, ensuring alignment with the company's strategic objectives, technological goals, and financial aspirations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure thorough analysis and integration planning.
  • Oversee the integration of acquired companies and ventures into the corporate structure, ensuring smooth transitions, technological synergies, and alignment with our software development processes.
  • Drive post-merger integration to achieve targeted synergies and business objectives.

 

Leadership and Team Management

  • Build and lead a high-performing corporate development team, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to team members, enabling their professional growth and success.
  • Collaborate with other senior leaders to drive the company’s overall strategic agenda.

 

Required Education and Experience

  • BA/BS in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field; MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in corporate development, M&A, investment banking, or related roles within the technology sector.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading and executing complex M&A transactions and strategic partnerships.
  • Strong analytical and financial modeling skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.

  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities with experience managing and developing high-performing teams.
  • Strategic agility to make data-driven decisions in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adjust strategy when needed, with the demonstrated ability to quickly filter through a large set of qualitative and quantitative data; equally as important is the demonstrated ability to make informed decisions when data is absent
  • High level of emotional intelligence in managing team dynamics, fostering a positive and inclusive work culture. Ability to balance empathy with professionalism to guide teams through organizational change while maintaining engagement and trust
  • Exceptional communication and influencing skills, demonstrated ability to both inform and inspire in both written and verbal delivery
  • Demonstrated ability to balance competing priorities in a high-growth environment
