Logistics Operations Manager Northern Europe

Job Description

We are currently recruiting for a Logistics Operations Manager Northern Europe based in Germany. In this role, the successful candidate will be managing warehouse operations and warehouse logistics providers in Northern Europe as well as managing costs, sharing of best practices & maintaining standardisation in warehouse operations. He/She will be responsible for driving operational execution with proactive collaboration with transportation, COM&LS and customer logistics teams acting as Key contact for Warehousing to Logistics & Distribution Manager and Mill Managers.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for defining and executing Warehouse strategy for Northern Europe (Benelux + DACH), meeting OTIF, Cost/m3, safety, quality and compliance targets

  • Drive warehousing efficiencies - Own warehouse KPI’s : Cost, activity and productivity including RFT

  • Driving cost efficiency to optimize distribution cost / m3 - Responsible of Cost Transformation & Storage

  • Ensure Month End operational activities are well coordinated to execute with excellence (in collaboration with Transport, Customer Logistics & 3PL)

  • Manage 3PLs (vendor management) performance through MBR, QBR, cost and performance (KPIs) improvement plans on site, support the  Ecommerce and Innovation manager

  • Champion Safety agenda in logistics operations by working closely with 3PLs and EMEA Safety Team

  • Own DC Maintenance & Investment plans, drive collaboration with the mils to ensure all logistics needs are covered within capital and maintenance plans

  • Responsible of Quality related matters: Quality audits management  (Mill, Transport  and Outsource mills) , Management of product recall where required, coordinating problem solving on quality issues raised by customers/business

  • Storage capacity Management

  • Stock Count – Responsible for stock accuracy and physical stock counts in all logistics locations

  • Thorough understanding of logistics and global supply chain with proven track record and experience in managing and leading a warehouse operations and managing complex 3PL contracts

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and stakeholder management skills

  • Resilient team player who is goal-orientated and demonstrates a high level of commitment with the ability to work independently

  • Passion for operational excellence (lean) with Continuous Improvement mindset, driven by data & process standardization, able to make sound analysis and translate this into action plans

  • Proven tract record in managing Projects independently

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel​ as well as SAP &BW

  • Excellent written and verbal English and German would be a strong preference
