Genesys has an exciting opportunity open for a full time position in-house as Corporate Counsel. The successful candidate will provide commercial legal support to the Sales and Channel Partner teams in the North American region. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial transactions with an emphasis on complex technology transactions, and particularly Cloud Services Agreements. This position will report to the Managing Corporate Counsel for North America.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support Genesys sales growth in North America by drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a broad range of agreements with a primary focus on cloud services and SaaS, channel partner agreements, and professional services agreements.
- Provide commercial and general legal advice to the business, including providing advice to internal stakeholders in connection with company processes and procedures.
- Supporting the North American legal team to drive efficiency in its processes and act as a point of contact with the Legal Operations team to ensure alignment with best practices globally.
- Supporting the Professional Services team in North America as the single point of contact between North American PS and the legal team.
- Keeping abreast of the latest legal and regulatory developments relating to cloud-based software solutions, and knowledge sharing with team members.
- Regularly contribute to and refine Genesys’ templates, playbooks, and guidance documents.
Minimum Requirements:
- Law Degree from an accredited law school in the United States.
- Licensed to practice law in a US state.
- 3+ years’ of professional experience in drafting and negotiating commercial contracts.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and contract drafting skills.
- Strong substantive knowledge of intellectual property laws.
- Consistent good judgment and ability to apply legal knowledge to help create practical business solutions.
- Strong interpersonal skills, and ability to work with a demanding sales team.
- Ability to work well under pressure with diligence, organization, and minimal supervision, and provide practical advice to clients.
- Ability to manage a diverse and complex workload while maintaining priorities and proactively anticipating issues.
- Demonstrated experience and skills in managing a volume of large and/or strategic agreements and a suite of agreement templates through collaboration tools.
- Must be flexible and able to adapt to changes and deadlines.
- A self-starter who operates well in a fast-paced environment that places a strong premium on integrity, excellence, execution, and teamwork.

Compensation:
This role has a market-competitive salary with an anticipated base compensation range listed below. Actual salaries will vary depending on a candidate’s experience, qualifications, skills, and location. This role might also be eligible for a commission or performance-based bonus opportunities.
$115,800.00 - $215,000.00
