We are looking for an Engineering Manager to join our team and lead the member-facing development teams. In this role, you will collaborate closely with a talented product and design team to drive the development of user-focused applications in a fast-paced, innovative environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong sense of ownership, experience mentoring engineers at all levels, and a proven track record of delivering high-quality, user-centric applications. Additionally, you will excel in managing stakeholder relationships and aligning engineering efforts with user needs and business goals.

 

Responsibilities will include:
  • Provide technical oversight and drive new features with a focus on Garner’s strategic mission
  • Build a high-performance team by mentoring, providing feedback, and hiring.
  • Continuously strive for quality while maintaining speed of delivery
  • Collaborate across disciplines by identifying bottlenecks and risks, proposing mitigation, and communicating tradeoffs
  • Protect our users’ privacy and security through best practices

 

Ideal candidate has:
  • 4+ years experience as an engineering leader with a track record of translating ambiguous business requirements into scalable solutions and new product features
  • Strong leadership skills with an ability to inspire, motivate, mentor, and retain top engineering talent
  • Proven ability to influence without authority (e.g. driving process improvements, spearheading architecture enhancements, etc.)
  • Familiarity with web application development, API design and cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS, GCP)
  • Strong sense of ownership and proactive problem-solving mindset
  • A willingness to “roll up your sleeves” and do whatever is necessary to ensure company success
  • Experience working in a rapidly evolving startup environment 
  • A desire to be a part of our mission to improve the U.S. healthcare system

The target salary range for this position is $220,000 - 250,000. Individual compensation for this role will depend on a variety of factors including qualifications, skills and applicable laws. In addition to base compensation this role is eligible to participate in our equity incentive and competitive benefits plans.
