Position Overview:
The Senior Manager of Pharmacy Operations will oversee all aspects of pharmacy operations, including team leadership, process improvements, vendor management, and cross-functional collaboration. This role is essential in ensuring a seamless and efficient pharmacy experience for our patients while driving key business outcomes such as medication adherence, patient engagement, and revenue growth. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of operational excellence, team management, and strategic leadership in the pharmacy industry, particularly from a business operations and pharmacy technician (Pharm Tech) perspective.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure medication availability by managing relationships with multiple pharmacy partners and addressing supply chain challenges.
  • Develop and implement operational strategies to reduce time to treatment, improve patient outcomes, and optimize pharmacy workflows.
  • Oversee the business operations side of the pharmacy, ensuring financial success and growth in alignment with company goals.
  • Manage operations with compounding pharmacy vendors, ensuring compliance with safety, regulatory, and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., product, clinical operations, medical, and finance) to design and execute process improvements that enhance patient experience and drive business growth.
  • Monitor and enhance medication approval processes, improving patient retention and engagement.
  • Oversee the financial performance of pharmacy operations, contributing to incremental annual revenue through operational efficiencies.
  • Drive continuous improvement in patient experience by reducing escalations and improving service metrics.
  • Lead key initiatives to mitigate medication shortages, optimize therapy management, and enhance operational scalability.

 

You will likely have:

  • 7+ years of experience in pharmacy operations, vendor management, and/or compounding pharmacies.
  • Direct experience working in the business operations side of a pharmacy, including finance, process optimization, and growth strategies.
  • Hands-on experience in a compounding pharmacy, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards and operational best practices.
  • Experience as a Pharmacy Technician (Pharm Tech) in a compounding pharmacy environment
  • Demonstrated success in reducing time to therapy and improving patient engagement and retention.
  • Strong experience in vendor management, supply chain integration, and operational excellence.
  • Proven ability to manage cross-functional initiatives and improve key performance metrics.

 

You may have:

  • Experience in scaling pharmacy operations teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with leveraging product enhancements and process improvements for operational growth.
  • Knowledge of compounding pharmacy regulations, quality control, and safety procedures.
  • Ability to manage multiple vendors and pharmacy partners to ensure service continuity and mitigate shortages.
  • Proficient in data analytics platforms such as SQL, Metabase, Mode, Snowflake, Looker, Excel, and Google Sheets.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
