What do we need

Lab Archives is seeking a Compliance Analyst & Cloud Administrator. This is an exciting dual-role and will have the opportunity to ensure the organization complies with industry regulations and internal policies while managing and optimizing cloud infrastructures. You  will combine expertise in regulatory compliance with technical proficiency in cloud administration to support Lab Archives IT operations and security framework. This position works in a small team and will require some out of hours incident response actions to support cloud infrastructure issues and/or special issues that impact customers.

In this role you will get to:

Compliance Analysis & Reporting:

  • Act upon the results of regular audits to ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, SOC 2, ISO27001, FedRAMP, etc.) and internal policies.
  • Prepare and maintain compliance documentation, including reports, evidence, risk assessments, deviation processes, product questionnaires and security articles.
  • Work with internal technical and security teams (Cloud Operations, IT, Security) to implement corrective actions for compliance issues so that compliance/security goals and requirements are met.
  • Assist in preparing for external audits and liaising with auditors during compliance assessments when necessary.

Cloud Infrastructure Management:

  • Oversee and monitor the day-to-day administration of cloud environments in Amazon Web Services (AWS) to maintain optimal performance, security, availability and cost-effectiveness 24/7/365.
  • Ensure ongoing access, performance, security and availability to cloud application installations across the globe 24/7/365
  • Perform routine system maintenance, patch management, disaster recovery testing to ensure high availability of critical cloud services.
  • Develop and maintain cloud administration documentation.

We are looking for people who have 3- 5 years experience working within a small cloud infrastructure with knowledge of compliance requirements in a cloud environment.

The key skills we are looking for:

  • Working knowledge of Compliance regulations and Cloud Infrastructure 
  • Cloud security best practices and regulatory requirements/frameworks like GDPR, HIPAA, PCI, SOC 2, ISO27001, and FedRAMP.
  • AWS cloud platforms and cloud administration tools.
  • Understanding of risk management and security protocols for cloud infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of monitoring and managing cloud environments, including performance, security, and cost management.
  • Compliance & systems documentation, and external communications to customer and/or external partners

You may also have: 

  • Certifications or education in AWS and/or Cybersecurity
  • A science background with familiarities in science discovery tools like Electronic Lab Notebook systems and/or other software used in a laboratory setting.
  • Working Knowledge of Linux operating system usage and administration.
  • Experience working on Government Contracts
