Job description

Frontera Health is revolutionizing pediatric healthcare by developing a cutting-edge, tech-enabled platform that delivers essential therapies to rural families. Our platform leverages AI/ML to create a robust video-based data model for early intervention and developmental disorders. By collaborating closely with parents, caregivers, and clinical partners, we’re bridging the gap in access to care, improving health equity, and providing personalized treatment plans. Backed by leading investors like Lightspeed and Lux, Frontera Health is poised for rapid growth.

Our ABA direct services are designed to meet the unique needs of children in underserved communities, providing them with the support and resources they require to reach their full potential. We are passionate about ensuring that every child, regardless of their location or socioeconomic status, has access to high-quality healthcare. By leveraging our technology platform and partnering with local providers, we are able to deliver effective ABA therapy to families who may otherwise have limited access to these essential services.

About the Role

Frontera Health is looking for a highly skilled and motivated ML Engineer to join our expanding team in India (Goa/Bangalore). This role is crucial in taking  research to production, ensuring our cutting-edge machine-learning models are efficiently developed, deployed, and maintained at scale. As part of a dynamic and fast-paced environment, you will work closely with our research and infrastructure teams across India and the US, focusing on productionizing machine learning models in various domains, including Video LLM, Computer Vision, Audio Models, and Reidentification Algorithms.

This position demands strong software engineering principles, a passion for optimization, and the ability to communicate and collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Model Deployment and Productionization: Lead the design, development, and deployment of machine learning models to production environments. Ensure smooth productionization of code that meets high standards of scalability and reliability.
  • Code Optimization: Productionize code for various ML models (Video LLM, Computer Vision, Audio Models, etc.) and contribute to their seamless integration into production systems.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with researchers in India and engineering teams in the US to ensure smooth knowledge transfer, alignment on project goals, and seamless model deployment.
  • Troubleshooting and Debugging: Proactively identify, diagnose, and resolve issues in production environments to ensure minimal service disruptions.
  • MLOps Best Practices: Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated model deployment, and ensure that version control practices using Git are followed consistently.
  • Productionize Research Models: Take experimental code from the research team and develop production-ready code, optimizing it for performance, scalability, and deployment readiness.
  • Cloud Integration: Leverage cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP to deploy and manage models at scale.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in software engineering, with a strong focus on productionizing code and deploying machine learning models.
  • Proficiency in Python programming, including relevant ML libraries like scikit-learn, TensorFlow, and PyTorch.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools for continuous integration and deployment.
  • Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles.
  • Hands-on experience with version control systems such as Git.
  • Expertise in cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP for deploying and scaling machine learning models.
  • Strong problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a demonstrated ability to work effectively in distributed, cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with various ML model deployment strategies (batch inference, real-time inference, model serving).
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and working in iterative development environments.
  • Hands-on experience with productionizing code for Video LLMs, Computer Vision, and Audio models.
Why Join Frontera Health?
  • Work with cutting-edge Machine Learning technology in a mission-driven company focused on revolutionizing autism intervention.
