This remote role is not tightly linked to a physical location and provides flexibility in where, when and how you accomplish your work. Job Summary
This position acts to protect and maintain the Harley-Davidson brand in the online space globally as well as managing all brand protection issues in the United States. The role is to develop and implement Harley-Davidson’s online strategy and oversee/manage global online brand protection work to protect the brand and enforce against trademark infringements across multiple platforms, websites, social media, marketplaces and paid ads. In addition, the role provides guidance and support to Harley-Davidson US dealers, licensees, field managers and other employees on the use of Harley-Davidson’s trademarks and works closely with Company attorneys and outside counsel. The role leads through influence with peers and other stakeholders and serves as a role model for Brand Protection team members.
Job Responsibilities
• Develop and implement a global online strategy to protect Harley-Davidson against online counterfeiting and infringements.
• Oversee/manage global online brand protection work.
• Protect and maintain the Harley-Davidson brand in the United States.
• Manage Customs seizures in the United States and support customs recordations.
• Develop and implement training for employees, dealers, licensees, law enforcement and others on use and misuse of Harley-Davidson trademarks.
• Budget forecasting and management. Review and approve appropriate trademark use as needed.
• Occasional involvement in and/or support of complex brand protection work which crosses geographic regions and organizational boundaries.
• Develop and implement long-term strategies, key policies and critical procedures for brand protection group.
• Manage external vendors (including online).
Education Requirements
High School Diploma or Equivalent Required
Education Specifications
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
Experience Requirements
• Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience working in brand protection or trademark paralegal experience.
• Subject matter expert in brand protection, specifically the online space, civil trademark enforcement, criminal enforcement, customs enforcement and field enforcement. Experience with and understanding of trademark registration, descriptive use, exhaustion and dilution.
• Excellent organization skills and the ability to plan, research, gather facts and follow work through to completion. Must be able to effectively prioritize multiple issues.
• Good written and oral communication skills. Ability to draft correspondence and documents addressing complex issues. Ability to effectively communicate with outside counsel with attorney oversight. Prepares accurate, clear and concise written communications that are targeted to the audience. Sets the appropriate tone and context and clearly articulates the message.
• Demonstrates excellent judgment, analytical skills and the ability to identify relevant issues and risks; excellent investigative and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work well in a team environment and collaborate with stakeholders.
• Understand legal/business interface.
• Has the ability to make judgments independently; train and mentor others in multiple subject areas of brand protection.
• Passion for brand protection work and development

The pay range shown represents the national average pay range for this role. Your pay may be more or less than the stated range and is dependent on your geographic location and level of experience.
