The Analyst, Leave and Disability Benefits is responsible for supporting people leaders and team members through leave of absence related activities including guiding team members through the leave and disability process, ensuring compliance with leave laws, facilitating smooth returns to work, and handling accommodation requests under the ADA.

**This is a remote role, and candidates can sit anywhere in the United States**

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Act as the primary liaison for team members and people leaders for all LOA-related inquiries and coordination with leave vendors.

  • Ensure timely and accurate administration of all absence programs, including short-term disability, long-term disability, FMLA, state leaves, parental and caregiver leaves.

  • Manage leave of absence inbox and ensure appropriate and timely action is taken.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve leave related issues, ensuring timely follow-ups.

  • Develop and sustain effective relationships with external service providers for leave and disability administration.

  • Partner with the People Team counterparts and legal team on absence and ADA compliance matters.

  • Guide the ADA interactive process and advise on accommodation requests.

  • Administer and counsel people leaders and team members on leave and disability programs, policies, and procedures; ensure compliance with ADA, HIPAA, FMLA, and other relevant laws.

  • Identify opportunities, investigate root causes and work with cross-functional areas to provide analysis and recommendations for improvement in business operations.

  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

FORMAL KNOWLEDGE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related fields or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • 1-3 years of HR generalist/People Operations/Leave Administration experience

  • Demonstrated knowledge of principles and practices of Human Resources, as well as of local, state and federal employment laws

  • Familiarity with leave programs, including Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, FMLA, State Leaves, Parental and Caregiver Leaves

SKILLS   

  • Strong interpersonal and coaching skills along with the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization.

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to assess situations and make sound judgments.

  • Ability to build strong partnerships with team members at all levels of the organization and take a collaborative approach to problem solving and decision-making

  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate complex benefits information in a manner easily understood by a diverse workforce.

SPECIAL MENTAL OR PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment

  • May require some travel

  • No or very limited physical effort required

  • No or very limited exposure to physical risk

The starting rate is $55,000-$60,000. The final candidate's relevant experience/skills will be considered before an offer is extended. Actual starting pay will vary based on non-discriminatory factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, experience, skills, specialty, and education.
