The Field Medical Advisor is at the forefront of Moderna’s mission, establishing and nurturing relationships within Canada’s medical and healthcare communities to enhance patient outcomes through peer-to-peer scientific exchange of Moderna’s mRNA platform science. This role combines scientific expertise, strategic engagement, and ethical collaboration to gather valuable medical insights while fostering trust and engagement.

This is a sole contributor position, requiring deep expertise, adaptability, and a commitment to excellence in a dynamic and innovative environment.

Here’s What You’ll Do:

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Developing and executing territory-specific engagement plans aligned with Moderna’s quarterly medical priorities and therapeutic areas.

  • Sharing complex scientific data in simplified terms to build understanding and engagement with healthcare stakeholders using Moderna’s Scientific Communications Platform and generative AI tools.

  • Collecting and analyzing medical intelligence to generate actionable insights that address unmet medical needs, refine strategies, and improve patient outcomes.

  • Building relationships across diverse stakeholders, including healthcare practitioners, policy makers, patient groups, and scientific societies, to align with Moderna’s mission.

  • Driving discussions on Moderna’s mRNA platform, clinical data, and health economics, contributing to the medical community’s scientific knowledge.

Your responsibilities will also include:

  • Enhancing patient care by identifying challenges and designing solutions in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Leading medical engagement activities, including advisory boards, partnerships, and educational forums, to reinforce Moderna’s presence in the healthcare ecosystem.

  • Adhering to ethical standards, regulatory compliance, and accurately documenting all engagements and insights in the CRM system.

  • Leveraging digital tools and demonstrating a “Digital First” mindset to enhance engagement with stakeholders.

  • Representing Moderna at conferences, advisory boards, and other professional gatherings, while adhering to the highest ethical and compliance standards.

  • Prioritize the platform: This mindset is vital as the role involves driving the adoption of Moderna’s mRNA platform across the healthcare ecosystem.

  • Pursue options in parallel: You will need to navigate complex healthcare networks and identify diverse solutions to address patient needs and medical challenges effectively.

Here’s What You’ll Need (Minimum Qualifications):

  • Masters in Scientific Discipline required

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in Medical Affairs or field medical roles

  • Bilingual (French/English)

Here’s What You’ll Bring to the Table (Preferred Qualifications):

  • MD, PhD, PharmD preferred

  • Experience in field-based and HQ medical affairs and / or clinical development and / or market access, preferably with vaccines, immunology or infectious diseases.

  • Established relationships within the medical community and a strong understanding of healthcare ecosystems.

  • Demonstrated ability to navigate compliance frameworks and interact ethically within a field-based role.

  • Exceptional communication, problem-solving, and relationship-building skills.

  • Willing to travel up to 70% within the assigned region

  • Must hold a valid driver’s license.

  • Proficiency in digital technology and familiarity with virtual presentation platforms and Microsoft Office Suite.
