Job description

About our group:

We are the Global Internal Communications team, which sits within Seagate’s People & Places organization. Our team helps Seagate’s more than 33,000 employees internalize Seagate’s vision, mission, strategy, and business priorities; connect and contribute to our culture; and feel pride in the products they help create and deliver to our customers.

About the role - you will:

  • Closely collaborate with teammates and stakeholders around the world to develop creative solutions to complex problems through clear, engaging, and compelling visual communications that align with Seagate’s brand & identity standards.
  • Use an audience-centric approach to translate client needs and communication strategies into mockups and functional visuals that align with program themes and Seagate brand standards.
  • Bring high-quality visual concepts to life through multi-channel campaigns that include fact sheets, infographics, newsletters, presentations, web content, articles, email messages, videos, animations, posters, digital signs, social media content, and more.
  • Flexibly and proactively manage the timely delivery of all design assets – working through client requests, revisions, final approvals and publishing.
  • Explore and advise on ways to improve the reach and impact of Seagate’s internal communications.
  • Contribute to additional projects where needed, including event management (virtual and on-site), content creation and publishing, survey administration, web content management, user experience research, reporting campaign metrics, and more.

About you:

  • Motivated to work independently, meet deadlines, and proactively provide updates to necessary stakeholders
  • Collaborative and passionate about building productive working relationships with team members and clients
  • Detail-oriented with high standards for quality
  • Capable of telling an excellent visual story that incorporates necessary direction to achieve intended goals
  • Confident and clear in your ability to articulate your creative vision, concepts, and design decisions
  • Highly organized and able to prioritize and manage multiple projects at once
  • Flexible and patient on projects with short turnaround times
  • An excellent interpersonal communicator – both written and verbally
  • Familiar with leading trends in graphic design, technology, social media, and other relevant fields

Your experience includes:

  • Proven understanding of how visual design contributes to overall brand identity
  • Proficiency in various software packages – including, but not limited to: Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word), Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Lightroom, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro)
  • Familiarity with multi-channel communications environments and proficiency in producing visual assets optimized for various channels
  • Ability to design using Apple and/or personal computer (PC) platforms
  • Current student in a Bachelor's program studying Communications, Marketing, Graphic Design, Advertising, Public Relations, or a related field.

You May Also Have:

  • Experience working for international companies – especially in technology, science, and engineering environments
  • Experience working in an internal communications, employee communications, or public relations role
  • Experience with Microsoft enterprise collaboration tools – including SharePoint, Viva Engage, Teams, and Forms
  • Experience with video production – including content capture, motion graphics, animation, and post-production
  • Knowledge of user experience (UX) design, website administration, and content management systems (CMS)
  • Background in Human Resources – or a general understanding of HR programs, standards and practices

Our Normandale campus spans two suburbs, Edina and Bloomington, and serves as the Recording Head development and manufacturing arm of Seagate. Located in the heart of a bustling community, Seagate offers an on-site café, or if you prefer, you can drive to one of many restaurants just minutes away. Need to grab a gift over lunchtime? Shopping is abundant in the area. If working out is your thing, the on-site fully equipped fitness center hosts wellness programs, outdoor activities, tournaments, and group workouts. Looking for something more laid back? Reset in one of our meditation rooms, or simply take a walk around our indoor walking path. On-site cultural festivals, celebrations, and community volunteer opportunities also abound.

Our Longmont product-design campus is nestled against the foothills with exceptional views of the Rocky Mountains. Here at work, you can grab breakfast and lunch in the on-site cafeteria or get an afternoon espresso, prepared by a professional barista. Our 1,500+ employees enjoy an active on-site experience from sporting activities (get in a few laps at lunch on our 1-mile walking path around campus, play ping-pong or volleyball, or stop in our 24- hour fitness center for a group or individual workout) to community service and many employee resource groups including Pride!, Women’s Leadership Network and a Young Professionals Network.

Our Shakopee campus is located 25 minutes southwest of Minneapolis in a setting with a rural vibe – it overlooks a horse racing track and stables, yet it has great entertainment venues close by as well. With wide-open spaces, the campus has plenty of space for running, biking, shooting some hoops or playing volleyball over lunch. If working out is your thing, the on-site fully equipped fitness center hosts wellness programs, tournaments and group workouts. Hungry? Seagate offers an on-site café with freshly sourced foods and specialty coffees, or if you prefer, drive to one of many restaurants just minutes away.
