At GDIT, people are our differentiator. Our work depends on a RHEL Systems Administrator joining our CNIC Applications Support team which provides system administration and development/maintenance support of Commander, Navy Installation Command (CNIC) REVS and DLW applications.

HOW OUR RHEL SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:

  • RHEL System Administrator for CNIC Applications (REVS and DLW). 

  • Responsible for the design, implementation and maintenance of physical systems including servers, storage arrays, network devices and data centers.

  • Installs, configures and maintains virtual hosts, operating systems, applications and databases. Documents IT infrastructure standards, processes and procedures.

  • Schedules and coordinates infrastructure maintenance outages with all key stakeholders to ensure high availability of operations.

  • Provides periodic status updates on scheduled maintenance and upgrade of all infrastructure systems.

  • Troubleshoots hardware, network, software and application issues to identify bottleneck in operations and provides recommendations to ensure optimum performance and continuity of critical systems.

  • May work other CNIC applications as assigned.

  • Daily Server Checks

  • Monitor System Alerts/logs

  • Patching (ad-hoc & monthly)

  • Password Resets

  • Quarterly RHEL STIGS

  • QA/PROD Deployments

  • Server/DB Account management

  • Attend LCCBs to review/approve change requests from a RHEL 8 server perspective

  • Implement changes required for C2SOC data calls

  • Troubleshoot Tier II/III Remedy tickets Requests impacting REVS System availability and performance

  • Coordinate with SDP via IssueTrak tickets 

  • Track tasking through Jira

  • Manage REVS RHEL Servers

  • Support REVS development (Server Upgrades, Fapolicy exception management, SELinux exception Management, AIDE exception management, cron jobs)

  • REVS Quarterly STIG Standups

  • REVS Dev Team Standups

  • REVS Weekly Customer meeting Support

  • Retrospectives

  • Status reporting

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

  • Security Clearance Level: Active Secret clearance with completed T5 Investigation

  • Required Experience:

  • 6 years of relevant IT experience

  • Ability to maintain RHEL servers utilizing a LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP) Stack.

  • Required Certifications: DoD 8570 IAT II compliant - Security+ CE

  • Education: BS Degree or equivalent Computer Science or IT related degree

  • Location: Remote

  • US Citizenship required

The likely salary range for this position is $104,550 - $141,450. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
