SUMMARY: As a Stride Student Advisor Social Media Content Creation Intern, your objective is to assist in developing, curating, and executing engaging content across various social media platforms to support brand awareness and audience engagement. This role aims to contribute to K12’s digital presence by applying creativity, attention to detail, and growing knowledge of social media trends, while gaining hands-on experience in content creation, scheduling, video editing, and analytics. The goal is to enhance student’s interest in social media marketing, social media strategy, content design, and online community management to prepare for a future career in digital marketing or another relevant field.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties.

  • Create engaging content (text, images, videos) tailored for different social media platforms (Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.).
  • Ensure that content is delivered at optimal times for audience engagement.
  • Stay updated on the latest social media trends, viral content, and platform updates. Be willing to discuss and create similar videos from those trends.
  • Identify opportunities to incorporate trends or current events into content to increase engagement.
  • Help brainstorm new content ideas or campaign strategies.
  • Assist in the execution of social media campaigns, such as giveaways, school updates, or campaign launches.
  • Participate in focus groups and meetings with company executives to provide feedback on the College & Career Prep program and student experience
  • Willingness to host a YouTube video series and/or appear in Facebook Lives, Instagram Lives, pre-recorded interviews, and webinars.

Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no formal supervisory responsibilities.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Currently a freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior enrolled in the College & Career Prep program at a K12-powered school, AND
  • Parental consent to participate is required, AND
  • Student must have or be able to get current work permit, if necessary per state law, AND
  • Ability to manage schoolwork first, as well as meet the weekly responsibilities of the position
  • Certificates and Licenses: Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.); Web proficiency, Google drive knowledge, one drive knowledge.


DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Educational Background
  • Student is currently pursuing or interested in a field of marketing, social media, communications, media, or a related field.


Social Media Knowledge:

  • Familiarity with major social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Twitter/X, LinkedIn, etc.).
  • Understanding of basic social media trends and engagement strategies.


Content Creation Skills:

  • Basic experience in creating visual content (graphics, photos, videos).
  • Proficiency with content creation tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, Capcut or similar).
  • Strong written communication skills for crafting engaging hooks for videos, posts, and story creation.


Creativity and Innovation:

  • Ability to brainstorm and propose new ideas for social media content that aligns with brand goals.
  • A creative mindset with attention to detail.

Organizational Skills:

  • Ability to manage and meet deadlines for social media team.
  • Knowledge about social media platforms & updates.
  • Strong time management and ability to meet deadlines.


Team Collaboration:

  • Willingness to work closely with the marketing team, social media team, and video team to ensure consistent brand messaging.
  • Open to feedback and collaboration in a dynamic team environment.


Analytical Abilities (Not required but bonus):

  • Basic understanding of social media metrics and analytics (e.g., engagement rates, reach, and impressions).
  • Ability to track and report on social media performance.


Adaptability:

  • The willingness to stay updated with the latest social media trends and platform changes.

Experience (Optional but Preferred):

  • Previous experience in managing personal or business social media accounts is a plus.
  • They own their own social media brand/channel and are used to creating content.
  • Experience with short-form video content creation (e.g., TikTok or Instagram Reels) is a bonus.
  • Experience in graphic design is a bonus

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS: Stride, Inc. considers a person’s education, experience, and qualifications, as well as the position’s work location, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value when determining a new employee’s salary level.  Salaries will differ based on these factors, the position’s level and expected contribution, and the employee’s benefits elections. 

We anticipate this position will pay around $15 per hour. This rate is not guaranteed, as an individual’s compensation can vary based on several factors.  These factors include, but are not limited to, geographic location, experience, training, education, and local market conditions. Stride offers a robust benefits package for eligible employees that can include health benefits, retirement contributions, and paid time off.
