Centurion is proud to be the provider of behavioral health services to the Allegheny County Mobile Competency Restoration Program.



The Allegheny County Mobile Competency Restoration Program provides treatment to individuals for competency restoration both in the community and in the jail setting.



We are currently seeking a full-time Certified Forensic Peer Specialist/Counselor to join our team in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.  



Under the direction of the Program Manager, the Certified Forensic Peer Specialist/Counselor is responsible for providing support, guidance, and mentoring patients in a jail and/or a community setting to meet service delivery requirements of the Allegheny County Mobile Competency Restoration and Support Team (MCRST). 



Schedule:  Monday through Friday; 8:00am to 4:30pm

Qualifications

  • Current certification for Certified Peer Specialist (CPS) is required.
  • Experience working in a psychiatric hospital, behavioral health or correctional facility preferred.
  • Knowledge of mental health peer support services.
  • Knowledge of the recovery process and how it applies to individuals with serious mental illness and substance use disorders.
  • Knowledge of the criminal-legal system.
  • Knowledge of community supports.
  • Ability to interact well with varied levels of managerial, clinical, custody, court, and administrative staff in correctional and community environments.
  • Must be able to work independently, set and meet deadlines, ability to work from home and demonstrate productivity.
  • Ability to document paying attention to detail.
  • A valid automobile driver’s license, appropriate automobile insurance, and a safe, reliable, registered automobile available for use during work is required.
  • Active in-person CPR certification required along with current tuberculosis screening.
  • Must be able to pass background investigation and obtain agency security clearance (Act 33/34 Clearances are required and ability to pass Allegheny County background check including drug testing).
