Job description

Position Summary 

The  Revenue Cycle Clinical Systems Analyst is responsible for developing and maintaining a partnership with the Business Intelligence, Epic, Operations, and Clinical teams, to assist in facilitating strategic decision-making and to identify opportunities within revenue cycle, including patient access. The analyst will accelerate the enablement of reporting and analytics solutions to enhance revenue cycle management performance. This position reports to the Manager of Business Analytics.  

Responsibilities: 

  • Design, track and monitor standard reporting to support revenue cycle management 
  • Performance data cleansing and manipulation to ensure accuracy and integrity 
  • Perform detailed analytical reviews to identify opportunities to improve billing accuracy, patient access outcomes, accelerate cash collections and/or reduce bad debt. 
  • Partner with the Sr. Director of Revenue Cycle to analyze and improve revenue processes 
  • Partner with our business leaders to design and implement business metrics and dashboards with the highest standards of analytical rigor and data integrity 
  • Assess and screen reporting requests to make certain that the MFA only builds the reporting that is expected to drive the highest business value 
  • Analyze revenue cycle data to provide insight regarding trends and to propose solid recommendations based on the data 
  • Provide guidance and support to reduce denials and adjustments by analyzing the data to identify root causes, develop solutions and to implement action plans 
  • Present information and data to clinical leaders, executive directors and revenue cycle partners regarding trends and opportunities 
  • Design, develop, and maintain innovative and scalable automation solutions 

Experience and Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field of study  
  • Minimum of three years of experience in Revenue Cycle Management and data analysis, preferably within healthcare  
  • Minimum of five years of Excel (including VBA, pivot tables, array functions, power pivots, etc.) and data visualization tools such as Tableau  
  • Experience defining requirements and using data and metrics to draw business insights 
  • Experience making business recommendations and influencing stakeholders 
  •  Knowledge of healthcare regulations and compliance requirements  

Physical Requirements  

  • Walk, stand, and reach above the shoulder frequently in an office setting.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift or carry and frequently push or pull up to 100 lbs. as part of the role.
  • Regularly exposed to healthcare settings that may require personal protective equipment.
  • Requires manual dexterity to operate a computer keyboard, calculator, copier machine, and other equipment.
