The Opportunity
Provides executive oversight in leading, developing, and overseeing the provision, design and delivery of skill and professional development training. Collaborates with leadership to prioritize and provide training to meet immediate and future needs of the organization. This role provides executive level insights for the design, development, and implementation of training activities to meet the organization’s needs.
What you’ll do:
Envisions and develops short and long-term strategy and provides learning and development expertise and leadership regarding the development and delivery of training for the organization, to include mandatory training for all employees.
Owns the infrastructure for all learning and development programs by establishing standardized methods and procedures for delivery, evaluation, measurement, and reporting.
Forecasts annual programs to meet organizational growth and to develop training roadmaps and curriculums.
Provides strategic direction on the development and prioritization of new content and the re-purposing of existing content across a variety of delivery platforms.
Partners with senior leaders across the organization to develop the training and implementation plan in order to meet business objectives.
Provides executive leadership and oversight to the teams responsible for content development, content review, design, management, and administration for training needs across the organization.
Serves as the key executive making decisions related to new solutions to be developed, both internally and externally, and ensures training needs are met in the most cost-effective manner based on currently available training technology and resources.
Partners closely with the Risk and Compliance organizations to ensure all regulatory requirements and expectations are delivered with excellence.
Oversees the development of training policies, procedures, and guidelines.
Builds and oversees a team of employees for assigned functional area through ongoing execution of recruiting, development, retention, coaching and support, performance management, and managerial activities.
Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.
What you have:
Bachelor’s degree; OR 4 years of related experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree.
10 years of learning and development experience to include developing learning strategies, learning consultation, training design and/or managing major training initiatives and delivering results within a complex matrix environment.
6 years of people leadership experience in building, managing and/or developing high-performing teams.
Extensive experience collaborating with key resources and stakeholders, influencing decisions, and managing work to achieve strategic goals.
Knowledge and understanding of regulatory requirements, quality standards and policies and procedures applicable to training and development to meet financial institution standards.
Strong communication (both written and verbal) and demonstrated ability to influence.
Experience meeting with Internal Audit and regulators to explain training program and strategy.
Demonstrated ability to design and implement training strategy and plans to design, develop, and deploy training.
Deep subject matter expertise in the field of Learning and Development, including comprehensive knowledge of and ability to apply current design and development models, learning technologies, change management practices, and adult learning philosophies.
Demonstrated ability to deliver large-scale training programs using various platforms.

What we offer:
Compensation:
USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market position. The salary range for this position is: $163,880.00-294,980.00.
Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance or at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
Long Term Incentive Plan: Cash payment for Executive level roles only, representing a cash payment which is both time and performance based.
