Data Security Leader

Job title: Data Security Leader

Location: Sao Paulo, Brazil

Overview of the role:

We cannot afford to get it wrong when it comes to maintaining player trust. If we do not protect what our players entrust to us and do not offer them a secure, compliant, and fair experience, they will go elsewhere. In addition, we want to allow our people to work with our most sensitive information assets but not expose or leak them.

You will lead a capability to ensure that we are applying good data security practices across our business in Brazil.

We are looking for an established data security leader with a strong technical background. The ideal candidate will currently be or have recently led a small team of data security practitioners.

Our new Sao Paulo workspace is the perfect place for team collaboration and individual growth. It is located in the Paulista neighborhood with great transport links across the city and exciting working environment. This role will be part of our hybrid working environment with a blend of time in the office and from home.

What you’ll do:

  • Ensure compliance with the data security elements that support LGPDs. Security measures of controller obligation from a Cyber security and Technology perspective.

  • Ensure data governance of Betfair and Brazilian personal data by categorising data, mapping all data flows involving Brazilian data and maintain accurate records of operations.

  • Investigate personal data incidents from a security perspective. Liaise with Data Protection Office to complete investigations involving personal data. Coordinate with Data Protection Office and assist with reporting incidents, notifying affected data subjects and other stakeholders within the division.

  • Be the point of contact between the UKI Division and International Division for Betfair Brazil. Call out and support the rectification of non-compliances that require prioritisation in the Betfair Brand.

  • Support Technology and Cyber NIST reporting requirements for Betfair Brazil.

  • Provide training on data security and promote security awareness. Support Data Protection Office when requested on their training and awareness requirements to meet LGPD.

  • Develop Business Continuity Plans to ensure operational resilience during data breaches or failures.

  • Knowledge and Experience of Data Security Frameworks: Experience of applying NIST(or similar) security framework practically in organisations. Knowledge of cyber

  • Knowledge of Data Protection Laws: Familiarity with LGPD and relevant international regulations.

  • Risk Assessment: Ability to identify and mitigate security threats.

  • Technical Proficiency: Expertise in data security tools and techniques.

  • Incident Response: Skills in managing data breaches and security incidents.

  • Communication Skills: Ability to convey security concepts clearly to stakeholders.

  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills for troubleshooting security issues.

  • Collaboration: Ability to work effectively across teams to enhance security.
