Job description

 The Mission

The CRM Configuration Backend team is a new team responsible for building smart, contextual and informed activation experiences to help companies of any size quickly configure and map their businesses into HubSpot, accelerating their growth and success.

The Challenge

The HubSpot CRM has evolved into a powerful tool that enables customers to accelerate their growth and success. However, we want to enable customers to get value out of the product even faster. This team will pair with a frontend team to work iteratively to figure out the best way to enable that.

Responsibilities 

  • Spend most of their time building systems using Java 21 while helping to grow other engineers and collaborate with a Product Manager and a Product Designer
  • Grow their career in a dynamic, low bureaucracy environment.
  • Like the idea of working on a small, customer-driven development teams of 3-5 engineers.
  • Take ownership, work collaboratively, and figure things out
  • Solve complicated customer and technical problems while understanding the trade-offs involved, yet still acting decisively
  • Able to show pragmatic decision making and problem-solving abilities.
  • Understand how we build and why for our customers.

Qualifications

  • Strong senior engineer with some experience leading small teams
  • Have a passion for writing code and reading code, up to 90% of their time
  • Have experience with Java, C#, or other similar languages
  • Can foster an environment that encourages autonomy and psychological safety
  • Understand the value of building a diverse team, and are champions and up-standers for Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging initiatives
  • Enjoy mentoring and coaching other team members in a psychologically safe way, while also being open to learning from them as well
