Transportation Analyst

Scope:

This is a key role supporting the Americas transportation function, including working with our TMS (transportation management system) in SAP S4 implementation, our carriers on system integration & freight services, and work closely with other functions including but not limited to: warehouse operations, customer service, IT, and project management teams. The major focus of this job will be to coordinate and support implementation & optimization of best practice in SAP S4 TMS management for freight and carrier management. This includes implementing Transportation system and processes, customer collaboration initiatives, and transportation design modeling and implementation. The incumbent will establish relationships with internal Business Unit customers, vendors, and cross-functionally collaborate for process improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Drive the development, evaluation, and sustainability of TMS (transportation management system) network to meet and exceed the requirements of Dentsply Sirona. The service provider network must support system integration, cost controls, performance metrics, capacity requirements, company growth, and business continuity.
• Assurance of the systemic management of all outbound transportation for all applicable modes, carriers, and service levels.
• Coordinating role in business and process integrations.
• Follow QMS (Quality Management System) procedures, always contribute to quality; both proactively and on time
• Ability to influence change management cross-functionally
• Experience in process mapping and work instructions.
• Ability to translate (and challenge) customer requests into logistics solutions.
• Creativity in resolving complex issue surrounding business processes and technical challenges.
• Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a demanding, deadline driven environment.
• Help to Lead training programs and provides training to Dentsply divisional operators in the use of transportation best practice processes.
• Ability to work as part of a team to meet the requirements of the business across different departments
• Carrier portfolio support & development including the analysis of new potential carrier service offerings.
• Support development of cost, quality, and service business cases for Dentsply Sirona divisional business units.
• Support in reporting of logistics relevant key figures.

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent level of education and relevant experience.

Years and Type of Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• 3+ years of experience in Supply Chain / Logistics / Transportation

Key Required Skills, Knowledge and Capabilities:

• Knowledge of transportation regulatory requirements, transportation contracts, and transportation lanes
• Bring industry knowledge and ability to influence at the carrier leadership level.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills and be able to communicate with all levels and departments both within and outside the company.
• Ability to manage multiple cross-functional and cross-organizational projects.
• Interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all levels of the organization.
• Strong appreciation for analytics and critical thinking.
• Work effectively with others in the transportation team to resolve interdepartmental issues.
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Travel up to 25%
