This is a remote position.

Job Highlights: 
  • Contract type: Independent Contractor
  • Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am to 6pm Central (11:00 PM - 8:00 AM PHT) with an hour unpaid break

Job Summary: We are seeking a meticulous and experienced Tax Preparer to join our team full-time. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of tax regulations and the ability to prepare and file accurate individual and business tax returns. This role involves working directly with clients, managing tax documents, identifying deductions and credits, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws. The candidate should be highly detail-oriented, able to handle confidential information with integrity, and committed to delivering excellent client service.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Tax Preparation: Prepare and review individual and business tax returns accurately and on time, ensuring compliance with current tax laws and regulations.

  • Documentation and Record-Keeping: Organize and maintain tax records, manage documentation efficiently, and ensure client confidentiality.

  • Tax Law Compliance: Stay updated on federal, state, and local tax regulations to provide accurate advice and avoid potential liabilities.

  • Data Analysis: Analyze client financial data to identify deductions, credits, and tax planning opportunities.

  • Client Communication: Provide clear and timely responses to client inquiries, explaining tax processes and any relevant financial details.


Requirements
  • Experience: 3+ years of experience as a Tax Preparer, Tax Associate, or in a similar role.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA certification or Enrolled Agent (EA) status is a plus.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in tax preparation software (e.g., Drake, UltraTax, ProSeries) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws, regulations, and filing requirements.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong analytical skills and attention to detail to ensure accuracy in tax filings and documentation.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with clients and explain complex tax concepts in a clear manner.
  • Confidentiality: Ability to handle sensitive client information with the utmost confidentiality and professionalism.
