2025 Guardian MBA Summer Associate, Strategic Initiatives

Our 2025 Internship Program is a 10-week learning experience where you will be immersed in the daily environment of a thriving global financial services company. You will gain invaluable industry and organizational knowledge through daily business interactions and job assignments, in addition to engaging in projects that directly affect our business, interact with senior leaders in conversational settings, and network with employees and interns across our offices. This 10-week internship provides you with realistic experiences and information of what it is like to work at Guardian.

Internship Dates:

The internship program will run from Monday, June 2, 2025- Friday, August 8, 2025.

The team:

The Enterprise Strategy & Solutions group is responsible for developing and planning overall strategy, executing cross-enterprise initiatives, and driving M&A/corporate development, corporate venture and business performance/management processes.

We are a highly visible group and work on project teams to solve complex problems, develop the long-range plans for Guardian, and partner with senior leaders to identify, develop, evaluate, prioritize, and deliver strategic initiatives across the organization.

You are:

  • Currently a first-year MBA student (graduation between December 2025-June 2026), who is proactive, able to listen and make quick decisions and thrive in a goal-oriented environment.

You have:

  • Strong problem-solving skills and business acumen
  • Demonstrated project leadership potential, including prioritization of workstreams and collaboration with teams of cross-functional colleagues
  • Proficiency with both qualitative and quantitative data analysis
  • The ability to navigate relationships and influence key stakeholders using strong interpersonal skills, maturity, and judgement
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • An interest in financial services and insurance industry

You will:

  • Be exposed to and influence the agendas of Guardian senior executives
  • Support the development of setting a strategic vision, direction and near-term priorities for Guardian supported by competitor/industry research and operational and financial analysis
  • Support cross-cutting strategic initiatives that are essential to the success of Guardian’s overall strategy
  • Support in handling the business performance of driven initiatives e.g., implement and management processes to supervise business performance, develop and monitor metrics and goals for business areas aligned with strategic plan, and support decision framework to allocate and re-prioritize resources as required to achieve vision & strategy
  • Supervise cascading metrics and goals for business areas aligned with strategic plan
  • Support the development and delivery of Board of Directors content for specific strategic topics and executive-level offsites and working sessions.
  • Assess and develop cases, market sizing, external research, etc. for ideas driving innovation, partnerships, and other areas of investment outside of BAU and incubate initial development and execution of innovation initiatives.

    Location (housing is not provided):

    • 3 days a week at Guardian’s headquarters in Hudson Yards, New York

    Eligibility:

    • Applicants must be eligible to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship, now or in the future, for employment-based work authorization. F-1 visa holders with Optional Practical Training (OPT) who will require H-1B status, TNs, or current H-1B visa holders will not be considered.  H1-B and green card sponsorship are not available for this position.
    • You must be available for the full 10 weeks of the internship program.

    The base pay range for this internship is $12,000 - $13,600 per month. Please ignore the hourly rate below.

    Salary Range
    $20.00 - $35.00

    The salary range reflected above is a good faith estimate of base pay for the primary location of the position. The salary for this position ultimately will be determined based on the education, experience, knowledge, and abilities of the successful candidate. In addition to salary, this role may also be eligible for annual, sales, or other incentive compensation.
