Manager Organizational Planning Analytics & Insights

What you will do

Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. In this vital role you will report to the Organizational Planning Analytics & Insights Lead supporting the overall Tech & Workforce Strategy for Amgen. We are at the hinge moment of time where biotechnology and artificial intelligence technology meet. The Technology & Workforce Strategy will serve as a progressive program for Amgen to develop an innovation and technology center. The scope of work includes assisting the global functions through their workforce strategy journey.

The Manager Data Analytics & Insights will be responsible for supporting the development and implementation of novel data driven analytics & insights to support innovation. With these analytics capabilities you will make robust inferences to transform our business, ensure critical financial and workforce analysis impacting the lives of our patients.

This role will assist in a wide range of activities such as business engagement and onboarding to the Amgen India Program, base-lining, taxonomy development, workshop data packs generation, case and detailed design development and value capture monitoring. The successful candidate will interact with business key customers and serve as a liaison between the program and Functional partners. The person will also engage with key customers representing all functions globally across Amgen.

This role will collaborate with tech and data scientists, business SMEs, and IT professionals to develop automated solutions and infrastructure to enable development of a sustainable platform for base lining and long-range financial planning tools, cases and value capture modeling, and connecting the gamut of cross functional and finance data for ongoing transformation.

  • Workforce Analytics & Forecasting: Support the development and implementation of advanced supply and demand modeling techniques. Oversee the integration of workforce analytics with organizational strategy to ensure alignment with business goals. Mentor and guide team members in workforce analytics methodologies and standard processes. Partner with HR and Procurement SMEs to support internal and external workforce analytics.

  • Activity-Based Cost Analysis: Support analyses of total workforce spend and allocation. Recommend strategic cost-saving initiatives and optimizations based on analysis findings.

  • Vendor Analysis: Support the evaluation of vendor performance and impact on organizational efficiency. Develop strategies for vendor optimization and cost management.

  • Organizational Analysis: Support identifying and prioritizing areas of optimization opportunity across the organization. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement organizational improvements.

  • System Updates & Scenario Modeling: Help ensure central systems and scenario modeling tools are updated with accurate data and assumptions. Lead the development of new modeling tools to enhance predictive capabilities.

  • Workforce Plan Maintenance: Support the maintenance of the central workforce plan and track execution against the plan. Report on workforce plan progress to senior leadership and recommend adjustments as needed.

  • External Market Analysis: Support the analysis of external market trends and their impact on workforce planning. Provide strategic recommendations based on market insights to drive organizational competitiveness.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Doctorate degree and 3 years of Data Analytics, Science & Technology Management or Finance or experience; OR

  • Master's degree and 4 to 6 years of Data Analytics, Science & Technology Management or Finance experience; OR

  • Bachelor's degree and 6 to 8 years of Data Analytics, Science & Technology Management or Finance experience; OR

  • Diploma and 10 to 12 years of Data Analytics, Science & Technology Management or Finance experience;

  • Team member who can “connect the dots” across matrixed organization.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.

  • Passion for data exploration & visualization and building narratives to drive data-driven business transformation.

  • Intellectual curiosity, with ability to learn new concepts, and methods.

  • Energy for applying technical skills to solving complex business problems with elegant data analyses and Digital Products.

  • Ability to handle multiple challenging priorities in parallel.

  • History of delivering high quality work in an organized, and prompt fashion.

  • Experience working in highly collaborative cross-functional environments.

  • Knowledge of advanced financial modeling techniques.

  • Proficiency in data analytics and business intelligence tools.

  • Understanding of financial data and systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Understanding of global Finance, HR & Procurement systems, and operations.

  • Understanding of impacts of business decisions to financial statements (P&L, B/S, Cash Flow)

  • Familiarity with the biotech industry.

  • Business transformation experience involving recent technology advancements.

  • Prior multinational capability center experience.

  • Experience with Oracles Hyperion/EPM, SAP, Anaplan, Tableau/PowerBI

  • Familiar with scripting languages like SQL or Python, and AWS services like S3 and Redshift

  • Experience with data analysis, data modeling, and data visualization solutions such as Tableau, Alteryx, Databricks, AI and GenAI

  • Advanced degree

  • Understanding of HR/Procurement/Global Sourcing operations

  • Experience performing data analysis across one or more areas of the business to derive business logic for data integration.

  • Experience working with business partners to identify complex functionality and translate it into requirements.

  • Experience in preparing executive communication to include written and oral presentations.

  • Experience in financial planning, analysis, and reporting.

  • Experience with ERP systems and financial software.

  • Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning.
