What you will do

Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. In this vital role you will report to the Organizational Planning Analytics & Insights Lead supporting the overall Tech & Workforce Strategy for Amgen. We are at the hinge moment of time where biotechnology and artificial intelligence technology meet. The Technology & Workforce Strategy will serve as a dynamic program for Amgen to develop an innovation and technology center. The scope of work includes assisting the global functions through their workforce strategy journey.

The role will assist in the development and implementation of data-driven analytics and insights to support innovation. You will help provide analysis to ensure accurate financial and workforce data that directly supports decision-making and business transformation. The successful candidate should have foundational knowledge in financial/case modeling and an interest in business transformation and will support various activities, including assisting with business engagement and onboarding for the Amgen India Program, helping with baselining, taxonomy development, and generating workshop data packs, as well as giving to case development, detailed design work, and value collection monitoring.

In this role, you will collaborate with business key partners to facilitate communication between the program and functional partners, helping to support key collaborators across global functions at Amgen. Additionally, you will work with tech teams, data scientists, and business SMEs to support the development of automated solutions and tools for financial planning, cases, and value collection modeling.

Workforce Analytics & Forecasting: Assist in the development and execution of supply and demand modeling techniques. Provide analytical support to ensure workforce analytics align with business goals. Collaborate with HR and Procurement SMEs to support internal and external workforce analytics.

  • Activity-Based Cost Analysis: Conduct analyses of total workforce spend and allocation. Provide insights that help identify potential cost-saving initiatives based on data analysis.

  • Vendor Analysis: Support the collection and analysis of vendor performance data. Assist in finding opportunities for vendor optimization and cost management.

  • Organizational Analysis: Assist in identifying areas for optimization across the organization. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the implementation of improvement initiatives.

  • System Updates & Scenario Modeling: Help maintain central systems and scenario modeling tools with accurate data. Assist in the development and testing of new modeling tools to improve predictive capabilities.

  • Workforce Plan Maintenance: Provide support in maintaining and updating the central workforce plan. Assist in supervising execution and reporting progress to senior leadership, making recommendations for adjustments when necessary.

  • External Market Analysis: Assist in gathering and analyzing external market trends. Give insights to help inform workforce planning and support competitiveness in the organization.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Master's degree and 1 to 3 years of Data Analytics, Science & Technology Management or Finance experience; OR

  • Bachelor's degree and 3 to 5 years of Data Analytics, Science & Technology Management or Finance experience; OR

  • Diploma and 5 to 7 years of Data Analytics, Science & Technology Management or Finance experience.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.

  • Passion for data exploration & visualization and building narratives to drive data-driven business transformation.

  • Intellectual curiosity, with ability to learn new concepts, and methods.

  • Energy for applying technical skills to solving complex business problems with elegant data analyses and Digital Products.

  • Ability to handle multiple challenging priorities in parallel.

  • History of delivering high quality work in an organized, and prompt fashion.

  • Experience working in highly collaborative cross-functional environments.

  • Understanding of financial modeling techniques.

  • Proficiency in data analytics and business intelligence tools.

  • Understanding of financial data and systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Understanding of global Finance, HR & Procurement systems, and operations.

  • Familiarity with the biotech industry.

  • Prior multinational capability center experience.

  • Experience with Oracles Hyperion/EPM, SAP, Anaplan, Tableau/PowerBI

  • Familiar with scripting languages like SQL or Python, and AWS services like S3 and Redshift

  • Experience with data analysis, data modeling, and data visualization solutions such as Tableau, Alteryx, Databricks, AI and GenAI

  • Understanding of HR/Procurement/Global Sourcing operations

  • Experience performing data analysis across one or more areas of the business to derive business logic for data integration.

  • Experience working with business partners to identify complex functionality and translate it into requirements.

  • Experience in preparing executive communication to include written and oral presentations.

  • Experience in financial planning, analysis, and reporting.

  • Experience with ERP systems and financial software.

  • Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning.
